FYI, they're banned on Amazon for being hacking/skimming devices and were going for $300+ all day there. You can get them for like $170 right off their site, but stock/demand is an issue like Arby's DND Dice.... they just got new stock in.

It's taking advantage of a field that was rarely attacked previously. No one really cared about securing transmissions between a door reader and an access card, or your garage door opener, or your car key fob. Those were barely encrypted, if at all. HID only has one door card reader that hasn't been hacked yet, to their knowledge.

It has brought a little spotlight to a huge gap, but unfortunately it still has a LONG ways to go.

I have one. I lived in a high rise in ATL and wanted to have an extra key for the elevator and parking pass. I moved out before it came.

Pretty cool tho. I'm too scared to use it at a cash register or anything like that.

I got one over the winter. It's not all it's hyped up to be. It's an expensive unintuitive universal remote. The universal remote part is slow because you have to wait for it to cycle every code, best to just download the libraries. You can't duplicate NFC key cards because that hasn't been cracked. Most car keys are rolling codes and you'll just brick your own keys and have to go to the dealer. The rfid works but I only use it for my apartment gate which the keypad is faster anyways. Having a hard time trying to read my cat's microchip. It's great for having all the Amiibos for Switch games. If you want to hack WiFi, you have to buy an extra module. For a dyier that does stuff with raspberry pi's it's a fun tool. The bad usb could be useful if you're a criminal.

I think the best use was when my hotel provided a dumb remote to my tv and I couldn't change the source to my Xbox unless I used the Flipper.

The next device would be kick ass if it had WiFi built in.
