Best $5 you' will EVER spend on a steam game.

Ever. You're welcome.

It's single player, arcadish, you have to survive 20 waves... so games aren't long (kinda episodic) and it's the only game in my 50+ years of existence that I've played to where after it keeps kicking my ass, I don't rage. It's so weird.

And yes, you'll dream brotato in your sleep, because it gets in your head like baby shark doo doo doo doo doo.

Control with keyboard a-s-d-f, mouse or even xbox controller (I do this bluetoothed) on a PC.

No aiming, nothing to do but 'move around' and make lots of choices on equipment between each wave (you get stuff). Yes, it's auto-fire. You literally just control the potato's movement(s).

Gonna have to flush the toilet, but that's one expensive poo.

LOL

THere are 32 different potatoes that you can choose from to start off with, each having postive and negative statistics... and also unique to the game, you carry 6 weapons at once.... and there's tons of weapons to choose form, mix and match.... that makes the game... well, the game.

There are 20 'waves' where the 20th is the boss wave... you beat it, you win. Each 'wave' from like 30 to 120 seconds long, obviously as you progress each wave - they get harder and longer. Between each wave you reach the 'store' where you get more stuff using the money you collected in the wave ('materials').

It's EXTREMELY well balanced, has a great RNG-type engine for the store and so many various of weapons and items it's great.

This is an evil game. So simple, yet so fun. Haven't quite made it to level 20 yet. Made 19 and 18 several times. I find the balance among the various stats to be pretty balanced so far.

Glad you're enjoying it too - game is like crack.

It's extremely balanced, and it's random RNG engine clearly isn't totally random - it tries to detect what direction you're going with your build so that it doesn't bother you too much with useless stuff - because there is so much stuff.

Also, the potato's are all cool to play as you'll see after you unlock them all, that the game makes you play eventually in every playstyle imaginable with sooooooooo many different types/gimmicks/weapons, etc.

My favorite potato was 'Saver'. You basically play by not spending your money and trying to survive, but if you manage it, in the end by level 18, 19 or 20 - you're totally beast.

Some quick notes :

You know your weapons slots in the store screen? You can click one and if you have two of the same type/color, you can do a "combine" right then and there. For some weapons, you want to fill all your slots, and then do that (like Shurikens)... but on other weapons, like Slingshots, you'll want to combine asap as 1 blue is better than the 2 whites that make it.

Hardness Levels 0, 1, 2, 3 ,4 and 5 - You can play any level at any time. I did all the potatoes on level 0 just to beat them... then jumped to level 5 and am almost done beating them on that... so hard but so fun! By doing level 0, it did a lot of unlocks, so that was smart.

Bosses - If you KILL a boss (or both bosses on level 20 on hardness 5), the level ends right away (you win)

Weapons - I love slingshots so much... each time you level from white to blue to purple to red, you get more and more shot bounces/richotes.

Luck - Important stat but not required... the more luck you have, the better change stuff comes up in store... but if you have low luck, you'll still get stuff.... I've had just 5 luck before and gotten crazy good luck stuff... and have had 120 luck and hardly got jack.

Weapons/Luck - Try to make it a habit of grabbing luck in your first level up... way better chance of getting your equipped weapon more often.

Inventory/Weapons - As you know, you wield 6 at once... but the game watches what you have and tries to offer more... so if you want to stack slingshots (for example) and are holding a crossbow too... you'll get some of both therefore not a lot of either... so don't do that... go slingshots only and build those up, then add other weapons.

LOL. Nah, this is far more an arcade game. And the best part I recently learned is you can hit ESC in the middle of any battle at any time.. and on any menu exit out of the game, and resume later right where you left off... and should it crash (I had that happen once) - it resumes just fine.

satexas - If you like the rougelike/rougelite playstyle of this you have played Hades? It's not auto aim but is a lot of fun if you haven't tried it. Also Slay the Spire is great for a card-based take on this genre.

Hah.

No, but there's a Masochist potato, hilarious. You basically start with a negative -%100 damage penalty to start each wave, and each time you get hit, you go positive 5%... so you arm yourself with these healing medical scissors (6 of them at once) because medical scissors have life-steal and the premise is to go in melee, get hit, heal yourself... rinse and repeat to death making you slowly more and more powerful as your HP bar yo-yo's.

Wild potato concept.

Man. I just bought this and suddenly 4 hours of passed. My favorite so far has been the doctor with high HP and insane life-steal. I was just diving into crowds and coming out with full health and a ton of bodies behind me.

I probably just need to 'git gud', but I can breeze through the levels all the way to the boss and then get my ish pounded in.

I dont really like how 99% of the game is fighting waves of hordes and then the final fight is a dance around 1 guy and his red dots.
