Question about Ubiquiti Mesh Setup

I have my house setup with Ubiquiti equipment which is a little above my knowledge level in the setup, but I've found with youtube and other resources I can generally get through it.

My current setup goes like this: Service/Internet---->Unifi Security Gateway---->Unifi Switch---->Outdoor AC Mesh

The current outdoor AC mesh is not really used for mesh. It simply serves as a wireless access point outside of the house. I have a hard wire running from my switch to my exterior wall where the outdoor mesh is located.

I have a workshop that is located about 100' from the wall where the outdoor mesh on the house is located. I would like to setup a LAN inside my workshop and the ground is solid rock so trenching is a challenge to install a physical wire. So now the question is, can I install another Outdoor AC Mesh Antenna at the workshop, power it by PoE from a new Unifi switch in the workshop, and succesfully have anything plugged into that switch become part of my house network?

So the new setup would be like this: Service/Internet----->House---->Unifi Security Gateway----->Unifi PoE Switch---->Outdoor AC Mesh<---------Wireless Signal------->Outdoor AC Mesh---->Workshop---->Unifi PoE Switch---->Workshop LAN components (computer, wireless AP, etc).

Will this work, or should I use different components.

tldr--can Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M-US be used to form a wireless bridge between a house and a workshop with and feed ips to a new switch in the workshop? Trenching and overhead are under consideration, but difficult, hence the question.

I have a Ubiquiti set up. Took me a week. Finally got it to work, not sure how and haven't touched it since. I don't know what a mesh thingy is. Just posting to wish you luck.

Not sure either on the Unifi possibilities.

If you have power out there consider a Ethernet over power connection. Probably cheaper easier and more reliable.

Being lazy and not adding the product here…but UniFi makes a direct Wifi antenna whose purpose is to aim a wifi signal to another device far away for the purpose of having that device spread the wifi at its location. It's a directional signal as opposed to the omnidirectional of your access points. Most people will use this for your exact setup, the remote shop

Anytime you use a "mesh", you are slashing your bandwidth in half. You could do it, but I'm not a fan.

Look at a wireless bridge, instead. A wireless bridge is basically a point to point connection with full throughput. I've only ever worked with commercial grade equipment, but here's a Ubiquiti wireless bridge: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoBeam-High-Performance-airMAX-NBE-5AC-Gen2-US/dp/B0713XMHH9?th=1

Just need to verify it comes in a pair. Made a quick drawing of what the network would look like:

Thank you so much for the info and the drawing. This is what I was curious about.....whether to use the rabbit ears or whether to use the point to point devices. I will order the point to point and give it a go.

Please post your results. I have a shop about 100ft from the house I'd like to do this for.

Will do. It'll probably be about 2 weeks before I have everything but I will take pictures and notes and bring it back here.
