Cell phone company, who is the best?

So I have ATT (have messed with cricket in the past but not that great) and I'm a little annoyed that I pay ATT prices and my coverage seems to get worse and worse as time goes on, particularly when we moved to a new area in Pearland and at work in the Houston Med Center. Is there a way of knowing which companies work better in these areas other than word of mouth? Is there a company that is generally considered the best these days? If I'm going to have to pay a lot for cell phones I would at least like something reliable.

T-Mobile by far for price and coverage. Plus they will buy out your old phone contract and give you new ones (I think that's still around).

Plus if your at home coverage is lower than you would like, they give out free cell hotspots that use your internet to make a mini cell tower at your house.

Depends on where you live. For me, Verizon is the best. TMO sucks. ATT is ok. If you need actual unlimited data, Verizon is a no go unless you have an old grandfathered plan. ATT and TMO both offer actual unlimited plans again

No reason to pay full retail with ATT or any other carrier. Use circledin.com and get an unlimited elite plan for $45 a month. I've used it for 7-8 months in a hotspot pulling 800+gb a month with no issues. These are piggybacking on others family plans. It's not an MVNO so no deprio depending on the plan you buy

I have a Trakfone. I'm not a heavy cell phone user and pay about $100 per year.

I'm a big fan of Mint mobile. I live in a mountain canyon and am regularly in the backcountry. I always have service wherever everyone else does.

Its $15/mo if you pay by the year.

As a T-Mobile employee, I can say that we have discounted rate plans for customers that are first responders, military, and 55+ in age. We also have benefits Iike free netflix and a free year of apple tv and paramount plus depending on the rate plan. Our 5g network is the best in the business and you don't have to pay more to get it. Reach out if you want more info. I'm always willing to help out my fellow Aggies.

We switched from big blue to T-Mobile. Best decision we ever made. Saved around $50/month with 4 lines, better overall coverage, perks like free Netflix, new phones for practically nothing, and lots of benefits from the T-Mobile Tuesday app. I've never been with Verizon but so happy with T-Mobile that I never had to look.

Question for T-Mobile, if we are currently with AT&T but want to switch to T-Mobile, but my wife will want the new phone when it's released in a few months, would it make sense to wait and switch then or would it not make a difference?

Tired of paying AT&T prices and the service has been **** lately, and would love to get on bco2003's discount for life. But will wait if it saves me a few hundred dollars on the phones....

Just beware, since Tmobile took over Sprint, my actual phone coverage (you know, how we use to use phones) has gotten way worse. I'm pretty disappointed with the dropped calls/dead areas.

100% depends on where you live/work/spend the most time and word of mouth in those areas. Location matters most.

Are you on an old sprint phone still? They are trying to get everyone off them an onto tmobile phones. I think they are offering some nice phones for free. Sprint was CDMA, so your coverage will always be declining until you switch over to GSM. Especially since as of June 30, 2022, Sprint's LTE network is supposed to be retired. Tmobile will continue converting the old sprint spectrum's into GSM ones for Tmobile.

I would wait until the new IPhone Launch. We always roll out great deals during that time. You get the best deal when you activate a new account and port over.

I've had TMobile since January with no complaints. Well, actually one minor complaint: I've been trying to upload a pic of my fire dept ID in order to maintain the first responder discount, but I keep getting an error message. Maybe you can help me with that? Feel free to message me. Thanks.

I'm back in this game again. I just noticed that ATT snuck a 15% rate increase on us last month with no announcement they were doing so.

The problem is that when I've looked at switching in the past the costs always came out to be about the same across all carriers once you laid everything out apples to apples. And it takes building out a damn spreadsheet to get to that point because it's massively confusing otherwise.

Maybe things are easier to compare now.

I got a OnePlus Nord out of the deal. I also got to keep my old LG phone (2 years old) and use it to stream music and Chromecast to TV.

The map is pretty accurate. My old deer lease was in one of the tiny black areas where coverage sucked. I had zero cell signal out there pretty much. Couple miles in any direction and I got covered again.

They have a free test drive where they'll either send you a SIM or a hotspot device that you don't have to return. You have 30 days/30GB data to try it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/free-trial

My house shows fantastic LTE coverage, but I couldn't manage more than ~10mbps speeds. Worth a try since it doesn't cost anything.

I have 5 lines with T-mobile and my parent's home internet in Freeport and I just added another home internet for my in-laws in Frisco. Total is $260. No complains as far as coverage. It gets a little spotty traveling on some areas on I-45, along 59/69 to East Texas and reception is hit or miss in BFE West Texas (a Wilson cell booster helped) . I used to have AT&T and I don't miss the constant price hikes even when I had a corporate discount.
