How long do you want to ignore this user?

It's that time of the year again! I'm interested to see what they show off. I don't think there was a whole lot of rumors or hype.

Here's some rumored stuff.

iOS Sweet 16
  • Overhauled Lock Screen with widgets
  • Interactive Widgets
  • Another Big Improvement to Notifications
iPadOS
  • Multitasking Improvements
macOS 13 Mammoth
  • Overhauled System Preferences
watchOS
  • More Workouts of course

Maybe we'll see Apple's AR Headset running the rumored realityOS. Maybe they'll start handing out DevKits for $3,000.

M2 is rumored but they hinted Mac Pro to get M1 Ultra. Then there's rumors of an all new MacBook Air with M2.

Oh and one more thing, Apple opened a Developer Center building next to the Apple Park Visitor Center. This will be a place for developers to physically interact with Apple.

I'm also excited to see new SwiftUI improvements. I'm crossing my fingers for easy integration of CloudKit Sharing to SwiftUI. Will be a huge boost for one of my apps.

Looking forward to it. Agree not a lot of hype. Possibly an M2 machine. Possibly "always on" Lock Screen. Apparently no VR yet.

Wary of Notification changes, especially if they are breaking changes like they've done in the past. iOS 12?

Also interested in any App Clip enhancements. I have one and it's great for what I need. It didn't take off like they hoped, and it appears the team went on vacation about a year ago and never came back. (At least that's when they stopped responding to questions on Apple Dev Forums.)

Seems like Apple is announcing a ton of disjointed, evolutionary features. Nothing so far is really grabbing my attention, except possibly the (strange) way to make your iPhone into a webcam which includes a "desktop view" so that others can see your keyboard and whatever snacks you happen to be eating, in addition to the piece of paper you're drawing on.

And new MacBook Pro 13" M2

The differences between the two are blurring, esp since the Air no longer has the "wedge shape." Same processor, almost identical sizes (Air is only 10% lighter), almost identical configurations, and nearly the same price points. We'll find out later how much better the fan-supported performance is of the Pro.

Biggest differences I see are that you get a touch bar with the Pro and get a MagSafe charger with the Air. (Both have just two USB 4 ports.)

Based on that, I'd rather have an Air than a Pro similarly configured.

Think the sleep tracking is gonna put me over the top. Time to cancel whoop.

I'm on iOS 16 on my phone, it's been great so far. A few weird graphic issues when switching apps quickly, but otherwise it's perfectly usable.

The biggest thing for me is finally being able to sort playlists in Apple Music. I just have one huge playlist that I add to over the last 10 years and having to scroll to the very bottom every time I want to play the newest song is hella annoying.

All I want to see is a flip phone option. All updates seem to be behind others and/or are related to the camera. Haven't seen an update that has excited me in a long time. Of course, I don't' have a MacBook. I have an older iPad that has been great for years and a watch that's like 4 or 5 years old.

It's not. But I don't blame you for being skeptical

Use it day 1 every year for profiles for all my devices. No issues yet.

I'm curious if Apple Fitness will use inputs from my Garmin Fenix in iOS 16. Liked my Apple Watch Series 3 and 6, but have loved only charging just once a month instead of daily and can't see going back anytime soon.

I think as long was your Garmin app syncs with Apple Health, your data should show on Fitness.
