Yes, we've already confirmed that posts can't be wiped. You would have to do that manually.

I've never seen a delete post option on Texags. Is that a premium feature, or do you mean just editing all of your posts to be blank? If it's the latter, I don't think it would be too hard. You could probably check one of the freelance websites and hire someone to write it for you.

It is the latter, and good suggestion on the freelance websites.
It is time for us to go through your posts to look for juicy stuff.

I believe you can email staff and have your entire account wiped.
Nope. I called them and they said that they can delete the account but refuse to wipe posts.

They'll change your username to a random number when you delete the account. The posts will stay, but your current username won't show next to your posts. That doesn't help when people quote you, though.

Question for you smart tech guys on here - is there an easy way for one to automate the deletion of posts on TexAgs? That is, a simple script or macro that could do it automatically? Right now, the only way to do that is manually, which is extraordinarily time consuming.

Asking for a friend, of course.
I mean, I can make one if you wanna pay for it. It won't delete the post but it will wipe out your text.

As others have said, you can't delete posts, you can only edit and blank them. That will clear it out, but if you were quoted on the old texags, those quoted posts will still have your username associated with it.

Texags won't delete posts to maintain conversational integrity, this is a completely valid reason. As others have said, they will remove your username from your account so posts will have a garbage ID as the username, but any edits you made on old texags will have the edit stamp in the post.

I have a script. I last ran it around August. Go look at my earlier posts. It's an excel macro that will archive old posts before editing them. It's pretty easy to use the first time but but it doesn't really track what has been edited before so it's not quite ready for public consumption. If I have time this weekend I'll update it.

Right now it downloads your post history but starts with your latest instead of earliest which is very inconvenient if you want to run it a second time. I'll try to rewrite it go the other way.

You can do anything in excel. That doesn't mean you should...

(This application is obviously fine though.)

I'll try to make it a little easier to use tomorrow. Right now you have to enter your user ID # and the page ranges you want to archive and edit. Not the easiest for a noob. I'll try to scrape those values and clean it up some. If I can't get there this week I'll hand it over to a few of you professionals to fix.

I was pissed at a mod back then and in a fit of rage told him to delete the account.

So he did. Just the account of course.

I no longer have access to it, even though I was not permabanned.

It is what it is.
So we just gotta have Brandon bring it back and you'll have ~60K posts to destroy

Someone PM me to beta test my spreadsheet and give me some UI advice.

Right now you don't need to tell it your profile UserID and it scrapes all your profile pages to grab your posts history, but I don't have a clean way yet to do periodic updates.

Without that the archive and restore functions will be very difficult to manage for new posts.
