I'm using the cable that came with it, and I've reset all the connections as well. This just started when we returned from Thanksgiving and while we were gone there was a power surge, or something. Not sure if maybe that could have something to do with it. But while watching YouTubeTV the first few seconds of a commercial or show will display the error screen and then it will resolve most of the time. However, sometimes it doesn't resolve. I can hear the audio, but can only see the error screen. If I back out to Home and go back into YouTubeTV I can watch the show just fine.

Any solution? Could the power surge have messed up the cable or maybe the Roku itself?

I started getting those a lot last week too. Luckily my smart TV has apps for HBO, YTTV, TY, Disney+ and Hulu so I am not reliant on the Roku 3.

Our big TV is still a dumb TV, but I really like the Roku interface anyway. This error is pretty damn annoying though. Can't even change channels when it's on screen.

Ive had this problem in the past and fixed it by replacing the HDMI cable.

Is it a straight HDMI run from Roku to TV, or do you go through a switch, audio receiver, etc?

The roku stick plugs directly into the HDMI port on the TV.

Disable "Auto Adjust Frame rate" under advanced system settings.

If it is a Roku stick, I suppose you could try to use a short HDMI cable and connect to that and then to the TV.
