I live in Houston. I travel mostly to Corpus, San Antonio, Midland, Laredo, St Louis.

At least once a year I will travel internationally with goals to travel twice a year.

I know Google Fi will be better abroad, Im mostly concerned with reliable coverage domestically.

My current phone is a Google Pixel

Live in Houston...

I had Verizon for a LONG time and switched to TMobile (military deal) which Fine uses, and coverage is great even in West Texas. Have a Verizon work phone and only a handful of random places I've been did my personal one not work. Have also been in opposite situation too.

Go for it!

I keep seeing things that make me want to switch, but when I go look at my sweetheart Verizon deal it never makes sense.

The big thing to look at is how much data you "actually used". Look at your data usage for the past year for everyone on your plan combined.

Multiple that by 10, "assuming it's GB." Add 20 (per month) for each phone line and 5 (per month) for each line if you want accidental damage device protection. Subtracting this total from what you paid for a year of Verizon should tell you if it's worth switching.

I save a great deal with Fi even having discounts at Verizon. My wife and I have WiFi at work and the kids do at school. That keeps the data usage lower for us.

There are no contracts with Fi either.
