Cross posted this on Nerdery too

Looking to add a couple more cameras to my current POE system. Curious as to where is the best place to buy price wise? Favorite brand? I'm wanting to stay at least 3mp, maybe add the option for sound as well.

My current set up I bought through a friend that used to be in the business & installed myself.

Amazon has best selection.

That was where I first started browsing.

The ones I have now were purchased through ADI out of their San Antonio office

I've used Amazon mostly and AliExpress when I wanted something specific I couldn't find on Amazon. Much slower delivery from AliExpress since it is coming from China. I have a collection of Dahua and Hikvision cameras that feed into a Blue Iris server. Both are fine but I think the Hikvision web interface is better.

Currently I have W-Box Cameras, that I was told are rebranded HIKvision, but who knows. Same brand NVR.

Cameras are 1.5yrs old and no complaints, except wish I had bought higher mp and maybe a varifocal.

Current NVR has room for 3 more cameras so that's all I'm looking for

Make sure your NVR can handle the max number of cameras at the higher MP. My NVR is 8 channel but that is only for 2MP each max, with my 4MP cameras i couldn't use all 8 channels.

Anyone have any updates with their cameras? Anything you like about your model? Or something you dislike? I'm looking to find a deal for one on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I'm looking for a 6-8 camera system, NVR, cat5 hard wired, and phone app capability.

Are the brands they sell at Costco worth their price? Night Owl and QSee seem to be at the lower price points. Or should I stick with the Lorex. Not sure on my budget. Maybe $1,000.

Anyone have feedback on bullet shaped cameras vs dome shaped? Most will be going under rooflines and around gutters. I was even thinking about mounting a dome camera on my front door entry way but mount it 8' high. Similar concept as ring doorbell and have it point towards people walking towards the door. Maybe mounted on side of the wall pointing out. So you can't see it directly from the street. Thought? TIA!!!!

Nellys security. Great stuff and prices. I think everything is white label Hikvision. I got a whole system for my church for about $1500 with a 16 channel nvr and 10 cameras. I also have their doorbell. It's awesome. No fees.

Thanks for the feedback! Did you use bullet cameras for exterior cameras? One thing I need to read up on is the value of the 4K/ 8mb cameras. If my computer monitor or cell phone don't do 4K, then what's it really worth right now? Ya sure, phones will have it soon, but is it worth the premium?

I've got Reolink cameras, they have worked very well for me.

The higher resolution allows you to digitally zoom in and get much greater detail.

Same for me. I've been running reolink cameras for over a year with zero issues. Mine are POE and I've been very pleased.

With the Reolink, how has the mobile app worked you y'all? I keep leaning toward the Lorex, but the reviews on customer service look pretty negative.
