I have an iPhone 6 on AT&T as my main phone but would like to put an older iPhone 5 on T-Mobile's $3 a month pay as you go plan. I want to sign in to my Apple ID on both phones. I am doing that now, but the 5 isn't working as a phone, isn't unlocked (yet) and I wondered if going with a separate carrier will create an issue.

Also, has anyone gotten a number on numberbarn or another web site that sells phone numbers and taken it to T-Mobile? Does that work OK?

I've already got Google Voice -- which is much easier to use for nefarious purposes if that was my goal. I'd rather use an actual phone for this application.

I'll probably just create another ID. I don't need any purchased apps.

You can use your apple id on however many devices you want, carrier has nothing to do with it.
