Have only played a little so far but I'm loving the world, story, and exploration.

Combat, however, I find to be laughably bad. Whoever came up with this combat mechanic and thought it was a good idea wasn't very smart. I hope it gets better.

What's wrong with combat other than being difficult? Having to actually work at defeating opponents versus just button mashing bad guys into oblivion is pretty refreshing.

The imbalance in difficulty over the course of the game is my only pet peave about it. It's really, really hard at the beginning, then ridiculously easy once you're decked out - even against multiple end-game opponents.

Like I said, haven't played a whole lot, but I'm not a fan of the combat compass, or whatever. Choosing the direction of the hits is strange and especially initially since I'm so used to using the right stick to look around I keep mucking up the directions.

And yeah, it's difficult and a little cumbersome. But, it seems based on this thread it may get better. I have jack sheet right now, only played a little so far. I'm not giving up on the game by any means.

So can you not manually save the game? Checkpoint saves only?

You need to drink alcohol in the game to save or go to sleep for a while. Saviour Schnapps. You can either make it on alchemy bench or buy it for a 100 groschen.

I thought the same thing and had the same issues.

I just went to the Captain and kept picking the "train master strikes" over and over again for a day.

Once it clicks, its actually pretty great.

I find the combat rose clunky on PC with the mouse. It doesn't change the direction smoothly and getting it to the center dot is nearly impossible for me. Even now that I have plenty of armor I typically only go one-on-one on foot, more than one enemy I pretty much just stay on my horse to maintain range and pincushion them with my bow.

I love this game now that I have gotten better at it. Some poor ******* tried to ambush me, I calmly got off my horse and ****ed him up.

I love the game overall but the ending really drags the penultimate missions felt like busy work more than actually being missions (Goodwin we were bros why won't you join me!!!) the final battle was great but it should not of been the final battle and the ending is bland. Still enjoyed the hell out of the game but the ending was meh

That is because they left it open for a sequel and/or DLC.

I figured as much, I've read somewhere that the game will have three acts and that this is the first act, so hopfully you find something and in the third act you kill someone. I want a grand Civil war battle and to go head to head with Sigismunds Cumman Hordes

I want to see Prague (given the right resources) to fully realize the city.

Really love the heck outa this game. Im early in, only at mysterious ways mission. I like the combat. There is purpose and planing your moves versus typical button mashing in other games. And yes the combat is hard but thats the fun in it also. Just got my trojan horse with 4 saddle bags and ready to harvest some deer and hogs!

Yep, pretty buggy so I wouldn't call it a game of the year candidate or anything but I'd buy it again.

I knew this IP came from a small budget company and was very impressed with how much of their over ambition they were able to handle.

I do think the difficulty of the combat system is ridiculous and has cost them perhaps millions in potential sales.
