Most of my Purchased music was on Apple Music but I've completely switched to Spotify because Spotify is so much easier to use....much better interface and all-around better experience.

I prefer Apple music. I think the app is a lot easier to navigate on an iPhone, and it's obviously integrated into the OS better. One thing I like is the big album art icons next to the songs, it helps me identify songs quicker. I also hate the mandatory dark theme on Spotify.

The price of one CD a month for all four of us in our family? Spotify is a no-brainer.

Have Apple Music but I'm switching back to Spotify. Apple Music is buggy and frustrating. Their channel selection is weak and varies wildly in quality and the way they identify similar songs is light-years behind Spotify or Pandora. Also Spotify premium can be used with Alexa and its whole home audio.

Just my experience but I'm not all that integrated into IOS. I'm sure that experience is better for people who are.

I tried Apple Music when they launched it and liked it, but ended up cancelling due to their radio stations playing the same songs over and over and over as well as the volume being way low. Switched to Spotify and haven't looked back. The stations I've created have a far better mix of stuff I know vs new similar music, and I don't have to turn them up to almost full volume to hear it.

Not sure if Apple does it (didn't when I had it), but Spotify does a Daily Mix for you broken up by genres that you listen to each day, which are essentially playlists created by them geared towards what you listen to. I really like that and listen to it almost every day. The country mix plays really good Texas/Red Dirt and 90's country. Probably what I listen to the most (hear some new Turnpike and then some Little Texas or Mark Chesnutt after it).

As another poster said, Spotify integrates nicely into Alexa and there's also a shortcut in Waze where you can access some things without having to exit Waze if you use it.

The one thing I wish it had was the ability to select different playlists to listen to as a mix. It would be nice to select an existing country and classic rock playlist/station to be mixed at work rather than having to go in and change or create a new playlist.

We just installed Sonos One speakers throughout our office - common spaces and offices. It comes with Alexa built in... we have shared Spotify with playlists, grouped speakers and can talk to them (Alexa)

It's been a hit. Alexa, "play Bruno Mars on Spotify". Alexa, "Volume 2". Alexa, "skip song".

I love Spotify, but I'm on Google Play because it comes with YouTube Red.

I love YouTube and having no commercials (legally) is a BIG perk to me. Being able to set up a bunch of music video playlists is nice too. It almost makes you feel like you are back in the 80s/90s when MTV actually played music videos.

That's a pretty good reason to go that direction. I love Youtube and Red sounds like it's a good value. Agree on the whole music video thing as well - times were great when MTV actually had "Music Television."

Spotify much easier to use so that is what I stayed with, but sound and volume levels were noticeably better with Apple Music.

I sometimes like to cruise the highways with the windows down and music blaring. Spotify is not good for this.

Yes for two reasons.

1. I don't like to listen to ads while streaming music

2. I'm not a pos criminal that steals music.

Yes, because I like having access to damn near every song at a moment's notice wherever I am.

Thanks for the info...think I'm gonna give Apple Music a try (3 months free), but subscribe to Spotify as well. Maybe a concurrent comparison test run to see which one best suits me.

I like Apple Music best out of AM, Spotify, and Amazon Prime Music. The personalized playlist has given me a lot of good songs, and I like the lighter theme.
Prime has decent playlists, but a lot of the songs are older.
I used Spotify for a few months right before AM came out and honestly don't remember it much, but it was enough to make me stick with AM.

Try both for a month or two and go from there

Regarding music downloading, is that still a thing?. With Pandora, Spotify and Amazon, tons of music is free so why do people still pirate music?. Serious question, I'm an old and my kids seem content with Amazon and the free options. Now movies I get. I've threatened to drop the hammer for that (ie cancel internet connection at the house and their cellular data plans) but music seems like a dumb thing to steal now with all the options available for little cost.

Spotify is a clear winner for me because of how many devices have Spotify Connect support. You don't know how nice that is to have until you have it.

You can do that with Spotify as well. Great for flights or subways where you know you will have bad reception.

I use Apple Music and really like it, I also get a 50% student discount. When I use it I listen to music that I have saved to my library so I don't ever use the stations but I think the format is fine, and especially great on the non mobile version.

We're a Spotify family. I got my wife an Apple Watch for Christmas and found out there isn't an official Spotify app for it. Very disappointing. Hopefully, one is in the works.

This is basically the main reason I'm on the fence. Just got a AW3 with LTE and I'm able to stream Apple Music directly to my watch while on walks/runs. I do miss the User interface of Spotify though...

Interesting. I see apple music on google play from my pc, but when I look from my tablet, it's not available. Why is that? I see where they advertise that it's "Now available for Android on Google Play."

Tried both, at different points. AM has better curated playlists, but Spotify is better for overall content. AM integrates better with iOS. Spotify integrates well with... everything.

Spotify is the clear winner for me.

Been using Spotify for a few years. My wife and I really like it

We also just got AW3s, I'm now on the fence as well because of a lack of Spotify App for the watch

Those of you complaining about the lack of a Spotify app for AW -- can y'all elaborate on what you're missing? My watch can start/stop/fast forward/rewind/show track info/change volume for Spotify just fine. What else is there to do?
