I have access to Showtime with my Mother-in-law's password through my Apple TV. So how I can watch the fight on my Apple TV? Is it possible?

"Access to Showtime" won't get you the fight. It's 100 dollars PPV. You can either purchase it through your cable provider or find one of the numerous other ways to access the fight that are searchable online (most of which I won't detail due to their dubious legality).

You may be able to purchase the PPV through a non-cable outlet such as the PS Store (has offered fights in the past), but I haven't seen any info about that yet.

Go to a bar.

I know a couple of cord cutters who brag about the $60/month they're saving but never mention the $150/month they spend watching games/events at bars.

You can have every cable/satellite channel known to man, and you're still going to drop $100 to watch this on your TV (strictly legally speaking).

It's a bit different than a typical college or NFL game.

I've watched every Aggie game the past few years and pay about $35/month for Sling TV. Sure, some folks will spend just as much money on things like bars and stuff, but it is quite possible to save a ton of money and still watch the games you care about (assuming you're not one of those "I want to see every college, nfl, mlb, nhl and college baseball/basketball games" types. Even then, you could get most of that with stuff like SlingTV or PSVue.

Let me clarify: I'm willing to pay for the fight. But how do I go about buying the fight on my Apple TV?

I was trying to look the same thing up last night -- could not find a clear answer

You can't - that's what I said earlier. You have to purchase it directly through your cable provider.

Now, it is possible due to the magnitude of this fight that they make it available on other platforms like Apple TV, but they have not announced any intention to do so. Apple TV, to my knowledge, however, has never had PPV fights on offer.

If you have a PS4 they have historically offered both MMA and Boxing PPVs so I would expect it might be available there.

I'm a little suspicious of the implication that they aren't saving $60.

I'm sure they're saving a good bit on their bill but when they have to go to a bar to watch that adds to their TV watching cost.

Sure - but in the case of this fight, they'd have to pay $100 to get it PPV. A bar could be far cheaper than that.

Additionally, for non-ppv events, you can get almost all channels you'd need for <$50/month with one of the streaming services.

Not really interested but it keeps coming up on my FireTV. I'm betting that it would be available there.

My point is that if someone is willing to spend $150/month at a bar, they are likely going to do that with or without cable at home. So in essence they are still saving the $60/month.

But then again, you're describing a person that would brag about cutting the cord. I've never actually met someone like that. My experience has been that people are interested in saving money and cable is one of the last services they hang onto in this regard.

I use a site called Exstreams for Astros baseball games due to the blackout on MLB.tv.

MMA loser gets knocked out by even bigger Boxing loser in pre agreed upon fourth round finish.

Or MMA loser forgets the script and DQs himself.

I keep my Chromcast around for UFC fights. I stream it to my TV for free from whatever site I find with the best quality. For everything else I use my firestick with movie/tv apps.

Movie theaters are selling $40 tickets to watch the whole PPV event in IMAX.

of course you could also try Facebook live or Youtube which will be available but maybe not so reliable.

paying for stuff to watch is going to be a thing of the past really soon if it hasn't already been

Don't watch it! You'll see everything immediately after for free on facebook or twitter.

It's just gonna be a bunch of Mayweather pansy jabs anyway.

Didn't showtime just announce it was going direct to consumers on this? Through their website and an apple tv app.

Periscope is an option. And the way I have watched all of the recent fights. Quality usually isn't the best but it's free.
