Directv increase in billing

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Just had an online chat with directv about a near ten dollar increase in billing since January. Got no satisfaction except being told it is a necessary increase in order to provide service for programming. Was not offered any compensation.

My question: Have any of you experienced an increase of about ten dollars since January?

Yes, January was normal, February bill increased roughly $10, and March is same as February. I meant to look into but never did.

Just looked and they are charging me almost four dollars more than what the ultimate package is advertised at. Getting ready to chat about that.

Same here, it pushed me to move to a streaming service next month.

my regional sports went up $3 but overall bill went up a little over $10.

Call and say you want to cancel. Usually they'll transfer you to customer retention and drop the price.

Absolutely insane for an antiquated service to raise prices when people are flocking a sinking ship.

I call them every 12 months or so and threaten to cancel, and every time they lower the price. Right now at $80 per month. When they raise the price, I will call.

Bill went up $3 under the core Entertainment charge. We got a wicked deal on the last round of negotiations so I'm not rocking the boat for $3.

Also some of us would probably go over our 1tb limit on our home internet if we did go streaming only. That's my worry.

We live in the country and our internet is limited and spotty. Max on a good day is about 15mbps. Sometimes it's around 2 to 5.

Makes sense. Never thought of that. Are there no satellite internet options? Seems if Live tv can be streamed through a dish so could high speed internet. I have no experience so just asking - maybe it's cost prohibitive.

Satellite Internet is a rip off. Ping times of over 1 second due to signal having to travel to Neptune and back plus they have horrible data caps. And if the weather is bad you have no Internet. That's all we had growing up in the country though since there were literally no other options.

Edit to add it's also very expensive compared to options that people have in the city.

.I'm in the country down a dirt road. Use Verizon for internet and have very little problem with it except it is very expensive. Also, I have never lost connection using Verizon during storms. I can't bundle AT&T with Directv. So, to say the least....my monthly bills for tv and internet is ridiculous.
