So I inherited an old turntable from my father and the needle/cartridge is in pretty bad shape. I'd like to keep it as original as possible, but considering this thing is 30+ years old I figure that would be hard to do.

It is a Pioneer PL-S40 and here are pictures of the cartridge on the end.

Would a replacement cartridge like this work?

Thanks for any help.

Just fyi, you may also get cartridges here. Frys electronics had at one time too.

After some research online I ended up going with this one and it works great.

if you are ever in the DFW area, Forever Young Records carries NIB vintage stock cartridges for all kinds of turntables.
