Xbox One audio coming through speakers and headset...

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm not sure if an update screwed something up but suddenly my game audio is coming out both my speakers and my headset. I can't find any options to change it (the only thing similar is having party chat come through both, which is currently set to headset only).

Any ideas on how to change this? Right now I have to turn my speakers all the way down to keep the sound from coming through my mic.

It's always been like that for me. Don't recall there ever being a feature to turn off game audio on the TV. The ability to route voice chat is a new feature though.

Have you tried muting the tv while you play with your headset on?

I'm guessing the headset you're talking about is the single ear headset used for game chat?

I've got a Turtle Beach wireless set. I'm 98% sure that when I first got it about a month ago and turned it on the receiver audio muted so the sound didn't come across the headset mic from my stereo speakers. But now you've got me wondering since everyone else is experiencing the same thing. Maybe I'm thinking of my 360 with a wired headset that would mute the audio...

I do mute the receiver when I play. Am I crazy to think this should be a standard option to turn off TV/receiver audio when using a headset?

Using a headset for party chat. Game audio comes over surround speakers and is heard through the mic by the rest of the party. Rest of the party is really annoyed. That's the problem. The only solution is to mute the receiver which is easy enough, but seems odd since there's no reason to have audio coming through both a headset and speakers.

Your "problem" literally makes no sense.
The Turtle Beach headset is used for game audio and voice chat simultaneously.
Why do you have your TV speakers/surround sound on if you have the headset on?
Sound always plays through the TV, regardless if a headset is connected or not.

Turtle Beach mics are notorious for picking up noise from the surrounding environment. Kids, wives, anything...

Why you would have the game audio running through the speakers and headset is the problem and solution. Just mute your speakers or get a headset just for game chat.
