How long do you want to ignore this user?
I noticed most of the tailgaters has a small oval satellite disch/antenna device that brigs in a signal to their TVs. Most were "Tailgator by Dish". Can anyone give a brief description of how these work? Do you subscribe to the Dish network and buy one of these? Can they work anywhere?

I am going to be traveling a lot in a travel trailer an small boat to remote areas and was wondering if this would be a good option. If not...any suggestions?

They have two packages; if you already have Dish at a home account, adding the remote satellite setup is $7/month extra, and you purchase the receiver and dish setup.

There's also pay-as-you-go for when you have only a mobile setup.

The normal Tailgaters and such work, but take time to setup and get operational. Signal acquisition can take as long as 15 minutes.

Winegard does offer an in-motion satellite dish setup that works with Dish, but it's about $1300.
