Agreed. One game when I was on the Empire they did stop us. Every other game it seems like Empire wins.
Here's a post on reddit:
Hoth is challenging for the Rebels, but very winnable. You just don't understand how to play.
Here's how you win as the Rebel Alliance on Hoth.
Step 1. Secure the uplinks.
- 1a. Some Rebels should fall back to the site of the next uplinks BEFORE the current uplinks go offline. It is partially a game of strategy. The responsible players need to be proactive in hanging back while the majority of the team rushes forward. As the uplinks go farther and farther back, they get closer to the Rebel spawn points, making them easier to activate.
- 1b. Once you secure an uplink, DO NOT MOVE AWAY FROM IT. Per the game's instructions, you have to defend the uplinks. Do not just get it and then run away to go play Team Deathmatch.
Step 2. Once the uplinks are secured, the Y-Wings bomb the AT-ATs.
Step 3. Ground troops get into the turret batteries located EVERYWHERE and focus all fire on the main AT-AT while its shields are down.
Step 4. Air support does the same thing with the isolated AT-AT.
- 4a. While the AT-ATs' shields are down, the Snowspeeders can fire tow cables at the AT-ATs and wrap their legs up, tripping them like they did in the movies, which would make for an incredibly easy kill if anyone actually understood how to fly. Bare in mind that this is easier with the isolated AT-AT. Air support should be protecting the Snowspeeders since they are slow and squishy.
Is it hard to win before the main AT-AT passes the base? Yes. It is. But after that, it should be weak enough to take down fairly easily. It's not rocket science. Just stop trying to play it like it's Team Deathmatch on CoD.
