Just replaced the lamp in my tv for the 3rd time in nine years. It now turns on for 5-10 minutes then goes dark with three lights blinking. Anyone have this happen? do I need to. Now replace the ballast? Any thoughts? It's a Samsung btw.

Could you have gotten a bad bulb?

Mine (not Samsung though ) has a reset I have to set when changing the bulb

maybe your bluetooth ear piece or your treo are interfering with the tv. is your HD-DVD player still functioning properly?

Maybe it was my laserdisc player that was jacking with it! LOL

Tonight the screen went black with no lights blinking but I can see the lamp is still on by looking at the back of the TV.

I remember my Samsung DLP tv I bought back in 2003 doing that from time to time. Usually it was a heating issue and I had turn it off for a period and then back on to get it going. I even once replaced the mirrors to keep it going.

I'd almost say it's not worth keeping it going since HDTVs are so inexpensive now.
