Ok I'm fed up. I'm level 23, and in playing with two level 14-16 players...they always see higher CP pokes than me.

For example, just saw a CP 300 snorlax and they saw 1200.

Then a 600 Tauros when they see 950.

WTH?

Are you seeing them before or after? Somebody mentioned on here that a rumor was the first person to see it gets the highest CP or something like that

That's true, would've preferred something I can evolve with 20+ candies or use in a Gym though...I do have another 10k egg I just grabbed and 8 5k eggs to hatch so I'm sure I'll get something more useful along the way

Did anyone do the update today? Now there's not footprints at all under any of the Pokemon nearby.

Mine just updated without asking. The release notes say footprints were removed.

It also now tells me that I should play and drive when the app starts up. Hopefully it does disable play over a certain speed or my kids won't be happy sitting in the back seat.

That's terrible. So basically they have no plans in the near future to fix it.

Update now shows you your total XP above your current level. That's kind of nice to have.

But I agree with the removal of footprints. That just makes it look like they've given up on it.

Niantic is one of the laziest companies I've seen.

As a 3 year Ingress player....you have no idea....

They removed the Battery Saver mode as well. Sucks since it worked great for me...

You're right. Battery saver no longer available. Funny they didn't list that in the release notes. Kind of a MAJOR change there.

Mine just told me not to trespass while playing.
I think it's more of a general advice thing, as I don't see anything in the update notes about disabling play at speed. Too many people play while on public transportation for me to see them doing that.

Didn't realize that! I used that a lot.

There is a new menu button on a pokemon's screen to easily favorite or transfer.

I still have battery saver. I'm on Android, and I updated the app.

Productive walk with the dog tonight. I saw a 500 Eevee and had no luck so I put the phone in my pocket to talk to a neighbor, and when I took it out again it was caught. Then I saw a Squirtle, Horsea, and Polliwag

Battery saver is gone from iOS version but not android.

I went on my walk and caught three - Eevee, Venonat, and Exeggcute. All were decent CP.

It is a change, though. Normally I catch a good 8-10 pidgeys, rattatas, weedles, etc, with a few good ones mixed in. I didn't see a single one of those, though they were in my radar.

Not sure what to think of that.

I had a lot of eggs, so I also hatched four - Magicarp 141 (my first), Nidoran 474, Poliwag 452, Rhyhorn 659 (another first). One was a 2k, the rest 5k eggs. All were decent CP for their type.

I decided to ignore all Pidgeys and rattatas tonight since I didn't restock on pokeballs today

Went for a walk to hatch an egg, and decided to pop an incense (since my neighborhood is trash for catching anything). In 30 mins it produced 7 pokemon, including a cp832 venomoth. By far the biggest thing I've seen in the wild.

Also, my nearby list is so worthless. Can't find anything that shows up. Not even a rat. Pokevision is no help in my area, either.

To be fair to Niantic - I get why'd they pull the footprints right now. New players going to get confused as hell when they try and figure out what they are but end up reading old articles on how it worked back in the good old days.

You were correct! It pulled an old gmail account but I use our aggienetwork.com account now for Google.

Also, if anybody doesn't know all alumni have a free aggienetwork email managed by Google that has an unlimited space G Drive.

Mine was acting weird for a bit as well. Took me killing the app a few times to finally get through to the Google account permission page to allow Niantic access to my basic info (name and email).

I feel like everything in this game is broken...

I won a bunch of gym battles yesterday because after my arbok went down, it wasn't down and the defender couldn't do anything to it. Repeatedly. A bunch of my Pokemon were knocked out though, because as soon as they hit the ring their hp went to 0. I mean immediately, like less than a second.

I just walked over a mile (2.2 km) with the app open the whole time and got .4 kilometers on my egg. Even after logging in and out, still only .4 km. Walked another 100 yards, and now I'm at .5. Somewhere I lost 1.7 km. I'm wondering if the gps logging doesn't space out when the signal is lost or not strong enough. Even if people could cheat it, it's one more reason to move to an accelerometer for distance measuring (along with being able to walk on a treadmill when it's 105 outside and the possible battery savings from being able to use gps less).

Of course, the tracker doesn't work. Probably never will. And, of course, in an interview, John Hanke from Niantic said they're probably going to look into shutting down things like pv. Hurray for aimless wandering. On top of that, the tracker doesn't even update with what's around. I can drive home from the park and nothing on it has changed until I log out and log back in.

WTF is up with curveballs? More than half the time I throw one, I get no extra experience for it. I charge it by spinning it, throw it with a curve, see it follow a curved path, and then nothing. Other times I get the extra ten.

No more battery saver. WTF? When I go for a walk over lunch to look for Pokemon, this app is such a processor and battery hog that my phone constantly overheats. This app desperately needs to be simplified or something.

All too often I get to a pokestop and it's blank. Then I have to restart the app. I mean, I guess it works, but I shouldn't have to restart and login constantly to log my travel distance, see what's around me, and hit up a stop.

Is a really awesome and fun concept, but damn this thing has a long way to go. I almost can't believe they even went through a testing phase with how broken it is. I get that there's a lot of demand, but damn niantic, this sucks.
