Went 4-1. Started off with metagross, kyogre, and groudon and lost. It was a toss up because I might have won if lag didn't strike. I used a charge move that should have knocked out my opponent, but the stupid mini game never came up and hit weak AF. Then he hit me with a full charge to knock me out instead. Switched metagross out for giratina o, moved groudon to lead, and won 4 in a row after that. I probably should have lost the last one because they led with kyogre. I switched to mine, and they let it ride. This was his mistake. He used both shields and I used none, but I lost kyogre. I sent giratina out to finish it off, but after a few hits he sent out his giratina. I hit it with a shadow ball immediately and almost knocked it out. I had to use a shield, but I went through it pretty quick. Then he sent out melmetal. I immediately switched to groudon and laughed at melmetal's feeble attempts to stop the god of land. His kyogre came back out half dead and finished off groudon with a surf right before he could use another earthquake, but then giratina came out and shadow balled TF out of him FTW.

Well, reddit is a ****hole and most of the people posting there have lives that revolve around this game and seeking attention from others playing this game. I mean WhoTF has time to photoshop raid and pvp guides for funzies and reddit likes and then police the smallest part of the internet as if someone died and made them king of nothing?

Lag MUST be fixed. I was winning a match and then it just froze. After 30 seconds I ger the stupid good effort screen. **** that. There's no rhyme or reason to it.

That happened to me but I was on the receiving end of the mess!

I have not played Masters much, maybe 25 matches. I have something like 6 wins with half of those coming from lag probs. I am almost lv29 and then onto lv30 I go. I really need to hit 30 so that I can benefit from the increase of higher level CP mon in the wild.

Gyms have been kind of fun during the pandemic since nobody is going after them every 5 minutes. I went hiking on a trail just before the shelter in place started, and the trail was shut down. I had 3 Pokemon in gyms on the trail, so they've been chilling there for a month now.

I love when I occasionally win 4 games and get punished with a Landorous that gobbles up all my stuff.

I was pissed. I'd just one shotted his metagross and was kicking his kyogre's *** without using any shields. Then out of nowhere, "Oh well. You lose."

Do I let my rating continue to plummet to farm dust or hold off on GBL until lower leagues return?

Farming dust is never an incorrect answer.

Before ML came out I had a legit shot at Rank 9...my rating got as high as 2363...I'm down below 2000 now so may just farm dust.

1. How do you know what your present status is at a gym? You guys mentioned that you are trying to get gold. How do you know what is present?

2. What do you do when you evaluate a caught mon. I simply look at the appraisal and if it is 3*, I make it a favorite and put it in the bucket. If it is a 2*, he might be kept or thrown back to the sea, depending on who it is. The reason I ask is, what if you catch a mon that has a 15 in HP, but not so high in A or D. Do the A & D stats really matter for battles? Yo ucan simply change the mon's attacks and make him better, and I don't really even understand the Defense part of of the equation.

You can't go down a rank right? I'm currently rank 8 but not looking to get slaughtered.

There are end-of-the-season rank rewards, correct?

1) under the "me" tab when you click on your character if you scroll down there is a list of recently visited gyms that will show what your current gym status is (bronze, silver, gold) and how many points you need to advance to next tier. Points can be earned by leaving a mon in the gym over time or battling another team's mons already in the gym or doing raids

2) I used to do this as well. Only kept 3* due to storage limits (wasn't using coins to upgrade storage too often. Currently at 800 max). Now with the PvP battling, I think there is less of an "influence" for the ratings. 'mon typing and moveset will trump ratings. Once you get more competitive than ratings matter more. I'm sure there is some reddit thread that details all of this. I've definitely transferred some mons that I wish I kept that that had lower ratings but had the movesets that were better for PvP or community day mons with exclusive movesets I wish I kept more of

No you can't go down in rank, even if you're rating falls below the cutoff.

There are some sort of rewards at the end of the season based on your rank.

I had heard one of the rewards might be an "elite TM". I think it teaches a community day move to a pokemon that could have gotten one?

Yes. You can choose any move from a Pokmon's move pool. Legacy moves, CD moves, signature moves...I think anyone rank 7 or higher is given one.

The game will also show a progress bar whenever you feed berries to a defender, or win an attack against an opponent's defender.

It takes 30,000 points to get a gold gym badge (4000 to get silver). You get 1,000 for defeating a raid boss, 50 per hour for having a defender in there, 10 for each berry fed, etc.

Quality of Life updates coming

... including the ability to raid with you losers.

I should have expected the remote raid pass to cost coins.

XP bonuses for spins and more items. Also, you have a better chance of getting EX passes from EX eligible gyms.

They mentioned being able to invite friends to do raids with you, so maybe there's hope.

"Improved battle screen design"

Bout ****ing time. I feel like niantic needs to hire real game designers. The original guys came from data science and mapping, and sometimes I feel like they have very little grasp of game mechanics because they make very boneheaded decisions like the current battle screen mechanics and all of the horrible gym rebalancing and redesign early on. Some of the menus and features just seem very poorly thought out sometimes.
