How long do you want to ignore this user?
Guys,

I'm building a gameday condo in CS and wanting to put in some affordable technology in to:
-save money
-do a little security
-etc

any advice? (I have an Android phone)

-affordable, good thermostat that I can control on the way into town?
-affordable camera I can put up to monitor every once in a while the inside?
-If I get standard cable, should I think about not upgrading cable boxes and cable packages and instead doing Roku and Stream TV? (gotta have all the sports channels!!)
-any other fun ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Vivant can do the security camera and thermostat for one monthly rate.

Zmodo makes a good camera system you can access off your phone.

Nest thermostat works well and integrates with ooma phone service if you're interested.

The Roku accounts and stream tv will work with your accounts at home, so no extra cost there other than the initial equipment cost. An HD TV antenna could round out your package.

First question is, do you have the ability to run cable now?

Hi thanks for the comments!

And yes, basic Suddenlink cable and internet seems to come with the HOA package.

I don't know what company/product/service provides this feature, but I would consider a motion detecting camera system inside the house that will alert you if there is activity inside the home.
