How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am not an Android expert, and only recently got a new android at work. I really like it,but I am looking for an app that will kill a certain app at scheduled time. It's a chat program and I would like to just turn it off or really turn all data off / airplane on when work is done. Yes I realize I can just turn phone off and that is what I normally do, but sometimes I forget and then the next day I see phone has been on all night and it has made me look like I was "online" the whole time.

I have googled and looked and realized that after Android 4.2 they seemed to have disabled apps with this ability much to everybody's frustration.

Is there some type of workaround out there? My device is running 5.0

I've used Timeriffic to control a lot of features of my Android phones in the past, but Jelly Bean killed off the ability for apps to access airplane mode.

If you are running a custom ROM (probably not, if this is a work phone), then Timeriffic does let you try to tap into the airplane mode setting.

I have used Silent time but it only allows a "silent-time" schedule but not based on calendar event that I have seen

You might look into Tasker. I'm not sure if it will work for you off the top of my head..

android OS doesn't allow "app killing" anymore unless you root the phone.
