Do they provide an upgraded gateway from normal Uverse? Amazingly, their customer service reps couldn't tell me.

Honestly, it's just ok. They provide all the equipment. It is an upgraded gbps modem and AC router (one unit), but the router is very crappy.

I ended up hooking up my linksys router (AC 9000 or something?) and using the wifi off of that.

Plugged in I get between 700-850 Mbps down and ~500 up. Wifi, it drops to 200-300 down and ~150 up (could be my router, but it's pretty new and my laptop has an AC card)

We signed a one year deal, with a three year price guarantee for u200, gigapower, HBO. One wired dvr and one wireless dvr (wireless dvr is just an access point to tie into the corded dvr). It's running about 140 a month after tax.

Overall it's fine for what it is, I've honestly never needed over 100mbps internet, so I doubt I actually notice the gb Internet. Before we moved time warner was proving us 100 down and that was plenty fast and cheap for me. Unfortunately for my wallet, userse was the only option in my new neighborhood and I wasn't about to go down to 16 Mbps Internet when I could get the gbps connection for the same price plus HBO. (They spy my internet traffic to send me ads, or so they say, I haven't been bothered yet)

That's really helpful actually. I currently am a cord cutter with 16Mbps internet from uverse. We can stream sling tv, Netflix, and other services on multiple TVs without issue so I don't really have a need to upgrade...just lusting for the Ferrari internet.

I would avoid Uverse at all costs. All is fine until something goes wrong, then you are screwed. I am down right now without phone, Internet and TV...the earliest they might be able to get to me is Tuesday.

This thread prompted me to test the speed on the Gigabit service I've had for a week now. Phone & internet, no tv. I went with the 300MB option, not the 1G.

I'm getting 89M up / 95M down on a wired computer. That's with at least 3 wireless connections also streaming HD content somewhere in the house. Also, Uverse is the only internet option where I live.

I had a phone outlet stop working 48 hours after hookup. A tech showed up the next morning to fix it. He also hooked up 3 additional outlets for me and a nice 8-port switch "fell off his truck".

No complaints so far.

Sean, they just sent me an email about a new router, coming in today. So should be an improvement.

I love it, get about 300 up and down on wireless, 950 or so wired. Well worth it over the 70 I was paying for 24.
