The pixi was just a great phone. WebOS was ahead of its time.

Hated everything about the HTC One. Didn't like how hot it got, wasn't impressed with the screen, speakers underwhelmed me (compared to how they were marketed), HATE HATE HATED the capacitive button layout.

S4 wins on:
-Screen, both size/ppi/overall look
-Weight
-Profile
-Notifications
-Google services
-Share menu
-Can do simultaneous voice and data on Verizon, iPhone can't
-Email app supports attachments

iPhone 5s wins on:
-Battery
-Camera (absolutely DESTROYS the S4, and it's not close)
-App quality
-Fingerprint scanner is more than a gimmick, I really dig this feature
-Call quality
-Speaker clarity/volume
-Facetime is a killer app
-Do not Disturb mode has no Android analog
-Metadata over Bluetooth just works with every app, not so on Android
-Music listening is far better on iOS IMO

I'd say it's a real push between the iPhone and the Galaxy, it's down to what's more important to you.

Really? That's hard to believe, the S4 has the best phone camera I've ever seen.

IMO, yes, destroys. I was pretty impressed with the S4's camera too, but it needs quite a lot of light to really shine, no pun intended. The iPhone's slo-mo thoroughly trounces the S4's. The S4 does have some neat features built in, like the GIF maker (which I used to destroy Barry in the other thread).

Took these last night in my TV-lit living room.

You're probably right on the lighting, S4's camera doesn't do all that great in low lighting. But outdoors, it's fantastic.

This is one of the first pictures I took and it really impressed me in the level of detail it shows. I just kept zooming in and zooming in and everything stayed clear and sharp.

Yep, I would agree, that's a great pic for a phone. I just want consistency across a multitude of lighting scenarios, and iPhone seems objectively stronger right now for that.

i have to agree on the lighting. Galaxy takes BEAUTIFUL outdoors photos, but low lighting indoors is less than spectacular.

Motorola 120t - Snake 2 ftw. I also used to spend hours programming custom ringtones on this thing.

Samsung X427 - I though I was pretty badass when I got a flip phone

Motorola Razr - these phones really were pretty great imo

HTC Touch Pro - old Windows phone. Liked the phone, Windows mobile 6.xx ruined it.

iPhone 3GS

iPhone 4S

Samsung Galaxy S4

This was my first one in '98:

After 2 years of crappy service, I complained at the SW Bell store. I few minutes later (after checking to see that I averaged about a $400/month bill), the manager brought me a free Nokia 6120, then the hottest phone on the market.

After that, a couple of generic flip phones, then:
Motorola Razr
BB Pearl
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4S
Samsung Galaxy S4

How so? My S3 has a blocking mode

My history:
'98-'00 - Nokia candy bar phone
'00 - Ericson Internet enabled candy bar phone (3 line LCD display - could get email and movie showtimes, but that's about all)
'01 - Nokia 8310
'02 - Treo
'04 - BB 7130
'08 - iPhone 3G
'10 - iPhone 4
'12 - S3

Actually, it is. It does the same thing - block all calls / notifications with the ability to allow calls from your contact list if desired along with the ability to schedule which hours it applies. The settings of both appear to be roughly identical.

Motorola Flip Phone
Samsung Blackjack (internet enabled)
iPhone 3g
iPhone 4
HTC Inspire 4g (waste of space)
Galaxy S3 (overall great, hated pentile crap)
HTC One - blows me away,

-ACTUAL 1080p IPS display, by far the prettiest screen on the market when doing in store comparisons (it's retina quality on a 4.7 inch screen), great improvement over GS3's pentile screen.
-2gb Ram, quad core Snapdragon (latest model at release).
-HTC sense actually works now, and is pretty awesome. I never felt the need to root/install custom rom.
-Speakers were overhyped, though they are an improvement over my previous phones.
-Last but not least, the aluminum construction is amazing. This is probably the reason for the phone getting so hot.

I highly recommend this phone. I promise if you side by side the GS4 and HTC One you will notice the washed colors of the GS4 and the sharpness of the One.

I'd have to go current back and see if I can recall:

iPhone 4s
iPhone 3gs
Blackberry Pearl
Sanyo RL7300 (still say this was best phone I ever had, features notwithstanding)
Samsung piece of junk
Sanyo or Samsung sch3500
(another phone, I think)
Sanyo original spring PCS
Cell phone from Radio Shack

I didn't buy a Motorola brick phone, but I almost did on about 3 occasions. Also came close in 1987 to getting a car phone installed.
