Anyone on here try out "War Thunder" yet? I really enjoy it. I'm actually thinking of going premium but wanted to know if any Aggies were playin.

Thanks and Gig 'Em!

You and FootBevoMouth would get along.

I play War Thunder's older brother Birds of Steel on the 360. BoS was virtually a beta for War Thunder's beta. It had several bugs and Gaijin never fixed them. They pushed out a handful of DLC maps but only one two new planes. They then refused to provide further support for BoS while fixing all the same bugs and adding considerably more planes and maps in what would become War Thunder.

Basically Gaijin screwed over the console market that initially got them into the whole flight sim business with Birds of Prey. Because of that, I refuse to spend any money on War Thunder (yes I know it's F2P... I also don't play pay-to-win type games).

I don’t play WT but have a couple of Ag bros that do. I’ll mention this thread to them in case they are looking for more squadron mates. I play World of Tanks with them. Would like WoT better without the Russian bias but it’s still the best tank game I’ve played. I did play World of Warplanes beta test for a couple of weeks but planes aren’t really my thing. My bros say War Thunder is much better than WoWP. If/when Ganjin/WT comes out with a tank game I look forward to giving it a try. Hoping that they would more fairly tier the US and Russian heavy and tank destroyer guns relative to each other caliber wise than WG but Ganjin is a Russian company as well so that remains to be seen.

Is world of tanks the same concept? Free download etc...?

Yes WoT is FTP and download. I am told it's very similar to WT with how it's set up. Been playing it for about 6 months.

It's 1930s-50s armored vehicles, pretty much WWII to Korean era tanks in 5 classes-light/medium/heavy tanks, tank destroyers and self propelled artillery. Placed in tiers 1-10 by production date for the most part.

It's free to win as you can buy any and all upgrades and equipment with play money earned in game that those who chose to buy gold can. All buying a premium account does is just speed up the advancement from one tier vehicle to the next by paying a more in game play money /experience per battle.

I'm one of TGCGT's brothers I have played WOT for almost 2yrs. I'm a clan officer for 81stAR in WOT,and love the game. The 81st has several prior service tankers like myself along with ordinary gamers. In WT we also have an 81st Squadron I have been in WT for almost 1yr.
