I'll only be using it for presentations in a product I'm selling. Nothing else.

I want cheap (below $100), but I don't want it to crap out in two months.

I plan to eventually get a Windows 8 tablet, but they're higher than **** right now.

Suggestions?

If it is for your job, can spend a little more and get in the $200-250 ball park? You're asking a lot for sub $100.

Just for a weak presentation program. I have to pay for it as it is an up and coming company (friend owns it) and is not my actual job.

Don't think <$100 and doesn't suck go together. Use a laptop? or spend another $100.

I plan to get a Windows 8 tablet, soon. The software I'm using only works with IOS and Android.

You're best off just getting a Nexus 7.

Your best (only?) bet for that criteria is going to be a used tablet. Check out eBay or craigslist.

If there were good, long-lasting tablets that were <$100, a lot more people would have tablets.

Used/referb nook color. Can boot from sd card and run late roms. Solid construction. Will do everything but play hd video

If it is only temporary, why don't you borrow one from a friend? Or maybe pay your friend some money to borrow it?

Good and > $100 is near impossible. As has been mentioned, you can scour ebay looking for a deal, go with an Nook Color booting off the SD card, or pop for $100 more and get the Nexus 7. The 7 is an incredible tablet for $200, and with a little hunting around it can be had for less than that. Or if you decide to go with the NC, provided it will do what you want, setting it up would be almost child's play.

there was a nexus 7 on slickdeals a day or two ago for 150. for that much you'll have a pretty damn good tablet that will easily last until the windows 8 tablet markets fleshes out some.

Another rec for the Nexus 7, I'm an iOS guy but we got my folks a nexus 7 for Christmas and it's a slick little device.

It's really usable and even if you don't want it long term it'll have decent resale value.

have you ever tried looking at cheap chinese tablets? i researched the heck out of them before buying one last week. i found that purchasing direct from a chinese vendor was pretty risky. so i bought from an american company out of florida. this guy buys from china, then "americanizes" the tablets to make sure they run.

i bought a 7" Ainol Novo 7 Crystal for my wife. it is very comparable to a google nexus 7, but mine cost $125 and has a boat load of more port options including hdmi straight out of the tablet. it runs jelly bean too. i even put xbmc on it and it runs great.

the best part of my experience is the service. i ordered it on a wed (paid an extra $3 for rush service) and my wife had it that saturday here in tulsa. they actually answer emails and questions.

they have a couple of 10" tablets and one of those is going for $160.

aTmDave, what's the build quality like? And the battery life? I don't expect much for $125, but am curious nonetheless. I've got a couple of teenage daughters that are saving their pennies and they're pretty interested after showing them your link.

In a hotel in okc with the FAM typing this on my wife's Crystal. It is running cm 10 and performs great. In the week we have had it, the battery life has been better than I thought it would. The wife uses it for Facebook and pinterest mainly. The kids play angry birds and temple run 2. The only bug we have come across so far is the YouTube app doesn't work, but we can get on YouTube through the browser just fine.
