Looking for some help.....have a Marantz receiver that has nothing but HDMI inputs. Works great for tv sound through HDMI cable. What I am trying to figure out is how to hook either my iPhone and mp3 (USB) to the HDMI input to play music, pandora, etc. I am not finding a converter that will play audio......any thoughts?

There is no such thing as a receiver that has only HDMI inputs.

Every home theater receiver also has conventional audio inputs ("CD" or "Aux") for example. You said you want audio - so just connect a standard audio cable to the iPhone.

What's the model number on your Marantz? I'm with Spicewood.

If it is true that you only have HDMI, then an Apple TV would be your best bet.

The aux jack that you mentioned on the front of the unit is an hdmi input, not a std auxiliary jack. It does not have a std aux jack

Since you want to play audio, you can use the "Analog Audio In" jacks on the back panel. You can use the headphone jack on your idevice with a standard $10 cable.

Something like that. Hook it up to the CD input (or one of the other two that look like it). There's a cheaper cable like that on monoprice but it's out of stock. That one will work fine.
