Does anyone know of a legit repair shop in the DFW area that can repair the blu ray drive of a PS3 slim?

I've had mine juuuuust long enough that Sony won't repair it for free and I'd rather not pay them $200 after shipping costs to fix it. Pus the Sony person on the phone said odds are they wouldnt even send me nack the same system thus everything I have would be erased and I'd have to go back and re-download and reinstall everything which would be a massive pain in the ass.

The blu ray drive is refusing to accept BDs, dual layered games, and DVDs. You put them in, it makes some clicking noise, then a sound like its ejecting and then nothing. Occasionally it will recognize the game but more often than not it doesnt. It will still take older games.

I'm guess something in the disc drive has become misaligned.

I have a friend who bought a kit and did it himself. If you have any PC hardware experience I don't think it's too hard.

The kit cost $60-$80.

I have a bluray drive I happened to remove from my ps3 before I threw the reminder in the trash when I got the yellow light of death.

I would be happy to give it to you if you make the trip up to Plano.

EDIT: oh sorry just saw you have a slim. My bluray drive is from a fattie.
