Slacker. Bru owned last night

Me and a bud found a crashed chopper on the way to the northwest airfield. Only a m14 and fal so I was a little disappointed but the m14 does look badass. Only thing is I got kicked from the game about 15 minutes after finding it, for having too high a ping thanks to crappy suddenlink out here, so I'm gonna be pissed if I don't have it when I log back in.

I love the M14. DMR power but with a red dot. Accurate to 300m without major compensation.

I had to stop playing.

Scripters ruined the game.

I honestly haven't run into a scripter in a long time.

I'd estimate that the last I played (a period from ~2-5 weeks ago) 8 out of 10 times I did encounter them.

So you must have some crazy good luck.

Come play on a big, well admin'ed server and you won't have that issue.

Last night was pretty epic.

Crowbar, Eyeguy, and myself were playing Origins and finally got full blood and decent weapons so we decided to get ourselves a car. While collecting parts, we find a huey missing main rotor and gas. We then repaired a car, found 10 jerry cans and proceeded to fill the Huey up.

It was late, so we decided to go find Sector B. Also known as Salvation City. After circling the compound for a few minutes to find out wtf is going on here, we start getting shot at by the enemy AI. We say F it, and we land the chopper on the north side.

We crawl through a hole in the wall and are promptly welcomed by 4 armed super soldiers. One had G36C, other with M1014 (shotgun), and 2 other guys. Took about 3/4 headshots a piece to take them down.

We see the coast is clear, so we book it to the nearest building, the 4 story luxury condo (similar to the ones found by the coast in Taviana). We clear the building (empty) and start to investigate what we are up against.

In the middle of the town, there are 4-5 squads of 3-7 people patrolling an area that has 2-3 helicopters, ATC tower, and other misc buildings. With only 3 people, daylight approaching, and limited food/supplies, we decide to log out in the building.

You guys want to raid this city?

Hard to do when you find the game absolutely unplayable.

I really want to enjoy it. Its just ruined by a bunch of 14 year old dewshnozzles

Definitely want to play more origins. We need a crew to assault the NE city. It's awesome.

Also, you can't save there as it spawns you in the middle of the friggin ocean.

Wasabi, are you playing normal hives? Also, whitelisted servers seem to be best. I don't like linked hives due to metagaming.

Meta gaming?

Basically, "breaking the game" by doing things that your character shouldn't be able to do. In normal MMORPGs, this would be simply by using information from a previous life after you die or something like that. Old school golden eye on split screen by looking at other people's screens to figure out where they are. In Days o normal hive operation, it would be server hopping or relocating on another server to get advantage on an opponent. Smaller forms of it on Dayz are technically using the knowledge of zombies spawning in a far off city to know that a player is there. I do use the zombies spawning but so does everyone else. Server hopping really kind of jacks up the game. Especially when someone that wasn't in a sniper spot all of a sudden spawns into it after you've already done due diligence in clearing it.

So me and a bud are playing on this Dallas server. Only one other person in there with us, the guy says he won't shoot on sight and isn't a bandit or anything, also says he is in some city in the middle of the map.

well, we are at the northwest airfield getting ready to leave after looting the barracks. I'm waiting at the edge of the airstrip laying down while my friend is in the barracks. As he's leaving, before he can open the door he hears a zombie get mad as if chasing someone but knows it isn't me. He opens the door and sees a guy in a ghillie suit running in circles with a zombie chasing him. They both see each other and my friend backs into the barracks and jumps out of the server. Apparently so does the guy. Definitely a holy-crap moment.

Now we are wondering if he was stalking us trying to kill us or if it was some extremely random chance. I realize the NW airfield is popular to get equipment but the odds of running into the only other person on the server would be really low.

There is more than one way to play the game Chem. I like to play like its an I am Legend scenario, last man on earth trying to survive. I play on uncrowded servers to minimize coming into contact with other players. So yeah if I come across a bandit I quit out to preserve my scenario. Who says one way is the right way?

New patch came out, I guess rocket agrees with my line of thinking

I got scripted the 2 times I joined a private hive.

Not too much different honestly.

Whitelisted hives are easier to control. Yes, you still get script kiddies, but that has been extremely rare on moderated servers rather than open ones.

Our base a few evenings ago. Bru was having a hay day

Yeah, get on the teamspeak server. The info is on this thread, and I don't remember it off the top of my head. Just have it saved on my gaming pc.
