I have Uverse for Internet(18mbps)and DirecTV for TV. I was thinking of using Xfinity for both but I've read some posts on other sites about customer service issues and how the HD quality was lacking. I wanted to see if this has changed recently or if they're ongoing problems. I also wanted to see if anyone had the 30mbps internet service from them and if they got that consistently.

I consistent get ~25 download and ~5-7 upload.

As for HD quality. I'm not really a stickler when it comes to that stuff. I'm pleased with the quality.

Also have home security through them.

Customer service has greatly improved vs two years ago. The products have always been good for me, but they used to have HORRIBLE customer service. They have really got better on customer service.

No problems with customer service.

It did take them a very long time to fix a connection issues, but the delay was finding the source of the problem, not for a lack of trying on their part.

I had called to complain of extremely slow and off and on service. They sent a tech out the next day to check my house and connections/equipment. After several attempts to figure out what was goin on with my house, the discovered it was not my house at all, but the neighborhood switch. Something with the fiber optics. Apparently no one else in my neighborhood cares enough to call in a problem when they have no Internet for days.

I just left Xfinity / Comcast for TV and switched to DirecTV.

I will be keeping their internet service, but our bill had increased steadily since November, with January's bill topping $225 for 30mbit internet, HDTV Digital Preferred service with 1 HD DVR and 1 HD receiver + taxes and fees.

The TV portion of my bill was ~$150, my DirecTV is ~$60 (it will go $15 in 3 months for HBO) a month and I have more HD boxes and Whole Home DVR service and some great iPad / tablet Apps. So I'll pay roughly $75 a month for the first year, then $90 for the second year.

If I were you, I would look at DirecTV, Uverse TV and Xfinity.

I imagine in 2 years when the sweetheart DirecTV deals comes to an end, we'll be switching again.

I am enjoying it so far. I have starz for 3 months free (Spartacus for the m-fing win there) and the on demand is better than I expected. The hd isn't quite as good as I would have hoped but I went back and forth between netflix and bluray. Definitly closer to netflix in quality.

TheEyeGuy,

Compared to your last cable/satellite provider was the HD quality about the same or lacking?

Internet speeds - great, constantly ~30mbps down.

TV - meh, just like any cable company.

Customer service - CRAP. These people suck at life. Don't expect to get anything done, if you do manage to get something done, check your bill, they charged you for it.

After day one, the HD has been pretty good. I dont know why it was weird on thurs, but I'll be keeping up with how well the signal comes through.

Comcast is ok for Internet, but I absolutely hate it for tv. much prefer directv.
