How long do you want to ignore this user?
My MIL's computer has a nagging issue where it will kick turn the monitor back on (after the display auto turns off after 10 minutes) and will sometimes kick itself out of the screen saver.

The only things running in the bottom right are:
- Norton Internet Security
- HP Digital Imaging Monitor
- Windows Sidebar (with the clock and the weather gadgets)
- Usual remove hardware, internet, and volume icons

Some specs about the computer:
- HP
- Dual Core E5300
- 6GB RAM
- Vista Home Premium

I've tried going in and confirming the power settings and setting everything to the 'power saver', but it doesn't seem to be fixing the problem...

Any suggestions? TIA!

My mom was having a problem with her screen saver and the sidebar/gadgets was one of the culprits on my research.

mouse driver
click 'resume password screen'

I had the same problem in Windows 7 (screen saver doesn't start). I found the answer in this forum thread:

I quote from message 7 of the thread (user "cegb":

Here is the lastest news on my screen saver/wireless mouse issue. Some one at
Microsoft Online Support Service suggested that I try this:

To troubleshoot this issue, I suggest we first perform these steps:

Step 1: Set the default screensaver
============================
1. Right click the desktop, choose Personalize.
2. Click the Screen Saver.
3. Please set "Windows Logo" as the default screensaver.
4. Choose the Wait time to 1 minute.
5. Click OK to Apply.

Step 2: Check the related Windows Media Player settings
===========================================
1. Start Windows Media Player.
2. Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, and then click More Options.
3. On the Player tab, check the "Allow screen saver during playback" box.
4. Restart the WMP.

The trick with Windows Media Player worked for me.

Good luck!

I am pretty sure this is the start of skynet. You need to dissemble that thing immediately.
