Yeah I definitely shouldn't have traded mw2 in for it. It feels like WaW.

Meh is right, it only got an 8.5 on IGN. I probably won't get this one.

Thoughts after tonight... Not terrible at all. Definitely different that MW 1&2. Feels a little like WaW but not nearly as terrible.

One thing that makes this incredibly different, and a challenge in opinion, is no stopping power. In the MW's I held a 2.3 in MW & a 2.7 K/D in MW2. I never camped, just almost always ran a variation of M16 with stopping power which led to a one shot kill. First rounds of Black-Ops learned quickly that this will not be the same case. Still able to get the drop and first shot on anyone, but quickly got outgunned by any auto rifle. I think I will be lucky to maintain a 1.50 K/D in Black-Ops. So, with the rate of fire of the M16(or any semi/burst weapon) at normal hit damage... I think it is useless. Once I unlocked the next AR(auto) it was back to the old ways of destroying bad kids.

Also, connections were funky. Every game connected to a terrible host and eventually switched to someone else.

One more... loved the ability to buy attachments. No more wading through retarded challenges to get my red-dots, silencers, and acogs.

I think I actually preferred WaW, sans the tanks, to MW2. As some of the reviews said, more about skill and less about killstreaks and perks.

I'm still on the fence after 4 hours of play last night. Not knowing whether I will like an attachment/gun or not before I shell out "money" for it is annoying. The play us definitely back to WaW style, but the maps are extremely cluttered with junk.

Got about 2 hours of campaign time in. Meh is the right way to describe it.

Lots of action. Lots of violence. Story and characters are what I expected from Treyarch. Thin...

One of the things that Treyarch misses for me is that in COD2, MW1 and MW2 all have a sense of familiarity in them. When you started out on MW1 and saw CPT Price, you remembered him from COD2, then you saw Soap in MW2 and there was an instant feeling that you are part of the story.

For some reason, Treyarch's games just leave me feeling like I am not part of the story and just watching it.

does this game have split screen multiplayer on it like halo does? I thought I saw the option for it on the xbox live screen last night.

put in about 1.5 hours last night and I'm enjoying it so far. I think it does require better gun skill than MW2, and I like being able to customize my player more.

It seems 50%+ of the TDM I play is on nuketown, which I guess is ok, makes you have to fight and not camp as much.

The biggest thing for me is to learn the maps and learn what guns I work best with.

So far I'm using mostly the MP5K and the Enfield w/silencer or scope.

surveillance cameras = camping....

love the hatchet

w/o stopping power... automatic weapons are a must have

maps are pretty cluttered for MP... and the gameplay voices.. especially the cubans and the russky in the zombies game. eff zombies i never played that, thats what MP was made for...
SF2004
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anybody play the zombies yet? That game made WaW great...

NPH, can you elaborate of your "Meh" experience? I don't have mw2 anymore ad I had been mostly playing bc2 but I miss hc s&d and zombies so I was really looking forward to picking this up.

My thoughts after reaching level 10 last night.

I love it. It has the same feel as MW2, but a tad more difficult. I actually do better in this game than I did with MW1 and 2.

The maps are absolutely gorgeous. Beware, almost every map has great sniping spots. Opposing players are tougher to see than before, which makes for good sniping.

I also love the extra stuff going on in the backgrounds of the maps. Whether it be the missle launching in Launch or the targets constantly moving in Gun Range. I can't tell you how many times I shot a target as I rounded a corner thinking it was a player.

The other thing I love, but will have to get used to is the currency system. I love that I can chose what I want when I want and not have to meet a bunch of challenges to get a grenade launcher or better scope.

The wager games are by far the most fun and a great addition to the game.

I guess I don't really understand those of you saying it's "meh". Remember, it's not MW3. Different developer, some changes, a bit of a different style. For me, it takes the best of all of the FPS' out there and blends them into one with some additional tweaks.

I give it a 9/10

As someone stated earlier, this is my no means MW2... graphics are not as good as MW2, imo, physics are not as good as MW2.

Spawning after death is horrible and very random. You can pop up next to your team one minute and then the next right around the corner from 5 enemies.

I feel I don't have near as much control over my weapons as I did with MW2, this feels way to much like a run-n-gun no holds bar time game... feel like the tactical aspect of it is completely taken out.

That damn RC car needs to be taken away, noobs are rampant using that thing every chance they get.

In short, if this came out before MW2... MW2 would undoubtedly be called the best CoD of all time.

More to come later, busy at work

Graphics aren't as good as MW2? To me, they are far superior to MW2. Much more color and depth.

As for the RC car...I love it. Not because I use it, but because I love shooting it!

Oh and is that Ice Cube's voice we constantly hear in the campaign and in multiplayer?

I was thinking that since Treyarch was doing this one that it would have a more tactical feel on the MP maps. You could play tactical in BO's more than MW2 since there is cover and corners everywhere but low and behold that players are just running and gunning like usual.

-No sense of "team" in tam deathmatch. Everyone just runs and guns. No covering fire, no pop & shot.

-The stock M16 takes three or four 3-round bursts to take a man down.

-Money system is good. You can customize your weapon, hardpoints, and perks the way you like when you like...if you have the cash. My OCD kicks in in these games and I have to get every unlockable. I am going to need some big $$.

-As with every game on PSN, no one has a mic. SUCKS!

-Flamethrower attachment is the new NOOB TUBE...but the noob tube is still around.

-Napalm strikes. The graphics of the flames do not match up with hit detection. I was hit with napalm that was dropped on the other side of the map and no visual clue as to the fire getting anywhere near me.

At the Menu screen, tap L and R triggers in succession and Mason gets up and you can go over to the computer and hach JFK's (and others) mail as well as enter in cheat codes for SP.

I've only had one run in with an RC car in about 3 hours of gameplay... It was actually pretty funny too

and for the record, I'm not calling your opinion wrong, NPH. We just see it differently. Everyone's style is different. While I loved MW1 and 2, I think i may like this one better.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
oh yeah, I know, no harm done

again, that was just my take from playing it for a just last night

I am off work all day tomorrow, so after a day of playing I will possibly come back with a better analysis

And as always...being on -NPH's team gets you the "2nd place is first loser" trophy. Forget about winning a match with -NPH running and gunning!

-NPH, what set up were you playing with. I saw a silencer on your rifle and heard you pick up bullets so I am assuming Scavenger perk..
NPH-
How long do you want to ignore this user?
what I had last night (very basic as of now) was

ENFIELD w/silencer attachment
One of the hanguns as secondary

Scavenger perk
Steady Aim
Marathon

Smoke grenade
Frag grenade

I think that's what I had....

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Are anyone else's leaderboards glitched? I looked at mine last night and it said I had 6000 kills and 4000 deaths or something like that. Uhhh... I don't think that's possible to do in one day. Some of my friends numbers appeared messed up, too. Like one guy was lvl 9 and had 2000 deaths.

As for my opinion, I'm not sure. At first I really liked it, but that may have been because I didn't hear grenade launchers going off every second. A lot of the maps seem too big and cluttered for 6 on 6 death match. All the improvements Treyarch made were great ideas that I really like (theater mode, full stat tracking, COD points) but I'm not sure if I like the actual game.

RangerRick said it best... the M16 is MESSED UP in this version. That was my go to gun for MW and MW2 and it's completely useless. I had my struggles with the game early on, but once I started unlocking stuff it got way better. My feelings about the game:

1. It is very limiting at first and you have to grind through the first part before you can really start enjoying some good weapons/perks.

2. Once we all learn the maps better, things will settle down instead of it just being a bunts of ants with guns running around. It's way too early to tell how the game will play until we all have our favorite weapons and spots on the maps to fight from.

3. Buying perks n stuff is kinda nice... lets you pick and choose how you progress, but there is plenty of "grinding" required to get everything you want.

4. Not a big fan of game type specific requirements for perk pro. I will have to plant 10 bombs in order to get Ninja Pro... I don't play much of demolition at all, but I guess I'll have to now.

5. Interesting how claymores are now "equipment" that is completely seperate from nades n stuff. The guy above commented that scavanger will not allow you to pick up more. I was a big time claymore user, so this is an adjustment.

6. You can no longer equip noob tubes or any other undercarriage weapon in combination with upgraded sights. You want noob tube, you get iron sights! Another adjustment for me, but I'm OK with it cause I know a lot of people hated the tubes and the world certainly doesn't revolve around me.

Overall, there is a lot that has changed for a game that is, on the whole, the same. I'm not liking them all, but I'm excited that I will be forced to adopt completely different play styles instead of relying on the same tactics I've been using since the first MW. I pretty much have to forget about MW2 and find new ways to dominate. Can't wait to play some more!

First, PSN: IVI3N4C3. I know most everyone from the MW2 days.

My opinion, the game feels more like Rainbow 6 from a gameplay standpoint. I think there is too much going on from a graphic standpoint and the sound is no where near as good as MW2 was.

That said, I actually like some of the changes that they made (currency, etc.) Once I get my classes set up the way I like them, I think I'll really start to enjoy this game.

That, and once everyone actually learns the maps instead of sitting in a corner due to fear of walking around a corner and getting capped.

It's not bad but will take some getting used to. I am a BF:BC2 guy but enjoyed MW2. Never played WaW so that is taking some getting used to.

Fair warning: I am terrible (right now). I'll blame it on the lack of game time on WaW. But I'll be happy to take last place on a team.

I guess it isn't really "Spoilers", but Sgt. Reznov and Dimitri are back from World at War.
