Look at the 54" Panasonic G10 or the 58" Samsung 550 or 650. All three of those are great. If you have to go LCD because glare is an issue then the LG 55LH90 is great at about 2100 dollars

I was at Costco this afternoon (Austin), and they had a 50" LG Plasma for $799.

It's not online, but the picture was great.

Might be worth checking out.

Fry's had the Samsung 55" 6000 series LED for $2199 the other day.

The Samsung edge LEDs are a huge ripoff. They are some of the most expensive TVs on the market for no reason. You pay more because they are thin. I would get the Samsung 750 before an LED and I would get a plasma before it as well. Until the Samsung 8500 LED comes out in about a month then there is no reason to get a Samsung LED

You can get very good brand-name Plasma TVs for less than 1000 nowadays. Plasma prices have been dropping like crazy. I just bought a 42" LG Plasma and it's fantastic... for about $500 or so and then a $50 gas card.

keep checking slickdeals.net to keep up to date on deals. Get a plasma.. I promise you it's better than any 240hz BS crap.
