when you say 7.5 inches wide, do you mean the diameter is 7.5 inches?

yes, they're going to give us the answer tomorrow.. my guestimate was much larger though.. what am i doing wrong.. 3.14*(3.75^2)*7= 309 cubic inches.. candy corn's are roughly .75 inch long so i guess 8-10 per cubic inch.. for guess of 2472 to 3090..

I just picture an inch by inch cube and figure I'd probably be able to fit 3 in there. Factor in that there is a lot of unoccupied space as well.

I don't know anything about physics, but there is absolutely no way there is more than half of what you think IMO.

hmm.. im pretty sure more than 3 can be in one cubic inch.. they are .75 inches long by .25 wide on the wide end.. 3 beside each other would be .75 x .75 with space between the triangles.. 3 of those on top of each other would be .75 x .75 x <.75 with lots of space as well.. another way to think of it is 9 of them sitting in a square 3x3 pointing straight up.. thats still less than 1 cubic inch with lots of space

let's face it, there is no mathematical reasoning behind this...you must simply GUESS!

I guess so....I don't remember them being that small though. Maybe they are.

FTR, I found nutritional info for a large bag online. 22 pieces per serving, 20 servings per bag....roughly 450 per large bag according to that.

I'll change my vote to 1364.

Isn't the bigger question here, who is getting paid at your office to count candy corn and can I have that job.

to be fair, i remeasured today because i noticed the candy corn dont go all the way to the top nor all the way to the bottom of the container.. 5.5in x 7in.. new volume = 211 cubic inches x 6 per cubic inch = my guess of 1269.5

had i have stuck to my original guess of 8 per cubic inch, i would have been 6 off.. total of 1694.. winner guessed an even 1500.. someone guessed 1700 but rule was you couldnt go over..

..prize turned out to be an 8inch tall bronze halloween bat.. im not really as disappointed as the icon suggests.
