Anyone else encounter this. I've put in tons of hours getting my Franchise and Team put together. So I get to the preseason of my second season and the game freezes while trying to simulate through the first week of preseason.

After manually reseting a few times with the same problem I was able to sim through preseason but I had to go game by game (not quite that simple but kind of). Anyways even getting around that when I went to advance to the regular season it Froze doing that as well.

Is this a PS3 or a Madden 08 problem and is there a way to fix it without losing all my work? (I checked the disc no scratches and it occured the same way after I cleaned the disc of fingerprints etc. but is it a common game glitch.)

Most likely a Madden '08 problem, especially with the crappy discs EA put out for both NCAA'08 and Madden'08.

My NCAA'08 disc warped a bit after numerous gameplays and the PS3 began making a griding noise until I pulled the disc out and placed it under a bunch of DVDs.

This happens on Wii too (at least my copy of Madden 08). I cannot simulate two weeks in a row at some points in the season or it freezes. I haven't figured out what triggers it; happens sometimes and sometimes doesn't. Also, I cannot sim a bye week and then a game after it. I have to sim them separately.

i went into setup and franchise options and changed a few things like update depth chart to cpu instead of user/free agent wire cpu instead of user...not sure if that was it but after about a dozen unsuccesful tries before it finally got me to the regular season (i'll just change the other settings back to user later)...not sure if that's what did it but desperation worked in this case
