Gotta admit, I was a bit iffy accepting that 10 yard penalty on what would have been 4th down...we really trusted our D to make a play/not foul?

But the D held and they missed a 51 yarder.

This is the formula

Offense needs to start fast, get out on teams and then the defense at least has a shot. We have enough guys who can at least kinda rush the passer to get stops when the other team has to throw. It's asking a lot of the offense but that's where all the money is and so they need to take on that burden.

Washington was absolutely gonna go for it on 4th and 4

It was more about keeping them in a long enough 4th down so they didn't go for it. 50 yard field goals are pretty routine these days so I doubt they did it for that reason.
