Another Keeper Question

10 team, non-PPR. I pick last every round (non-snake and I won it last year). Up to 5 keepers. I should have the 5th pick since 5 people will keep first rounders ahead of me. We do 2 WR, 1 RB, 2 flex so you can start 3 RB's if you want or 4 WR's.

The top 6 available are Jamaar Chase, CMC, Derrick Henry, Ashton Jeanty, AJ Brown and Jonathan Taylor. Help me pick the 5 to keep.

Player / Round Cost

- AJ Brown / 1st round (I'm thinking no as I may be able to redraft him here. If I keep the other RB's, I really need another WR and I am risking losing him. The next best WRs would be Tyreek Hill or Davante Adams but seems like a big overdraft in round 1.

- Josh Jacobs / 2nd round - solid keeper. Not a value pick (he's a 2nd rd anyways) but makes a lot of sense with all the other RB's kept.

- Joe Burrow / 4th rd - about the right rd for him

- Garrett Wilson - 5th rd - seems too much of a risk and has no round value (he's ADP of 5th rd)

- Ken Walker III / 6th rd - going in the 4th, so some good value

- Brian Thomas Jr / 8th rd - seems a no-brainer, definitely keeping him at this value

- David Montgomery / 12th rd - normally a no-brainer for for 5 rounds of value, but will cost me another person. I assume he is a very strong flex keeper though.

- Bo Nix / 16th rd - I have giving up a top 10 QB with so much value, but I can't see him ever starting over Burrow. He would be a stash for next year, but I would get to keep Burrow as a 3 rounder next year if I wanted.

So I'm leaning Jacobs, Burrow, KWIII, B Thomas, and Montgomery and target AJ Brown with my 1st pick hoping he's still there. RB would be set, but if someone picks up AJ Brown who is the top WR not kept, I'm kinda screwed on my #2 WR and I would probably be drafting a top RB so I'd have 4 great RB options with Brian Thomas and a lower tier WR.

Thoughts? Sorry for the long post, just a complicated process.

in non-PPR...I would take Taylor over A.J. Brown at the end of the 1st round

Taylor, Jacobs, Walker, and Montgomery might give you the best RB's in the league

Brian Thomas is your WR1. Definitely keep Burrow -- shares of the Bengals offense are good

so the pick at the end of the 3rd round is the one for your WR2 -- maybe Pickens, Ridley, DJ Moore, et al

sometimes in non-PPR...I use a rotation of WR's for the weekly WR2 slot

Disagree on Burrow. He might be priced right at round 4 but there's no value there. For him to perform at that ADP he'd have to match the magic of last season with his arm; he offers nothing on the ground and if he doesn't have a record type year you're much better off getting value at WR there.

I don't disagree on Burrow, but Hurts and Daniels are keepers for others, leaving Allen and Lamar ahead of Burrow. They will both be gone by my pick the 3rd round, so I will get a lower talent unless I use my first round pick on them. It's not a bad idea in that I'd get to keep both Montgomery and Wilson (pretty sure I'm keeping Jacobs, Thomas Jr, and KW III). I'd get either AJ Brown or CMC/DHenry in the first round. And hope I'd get a chance at a decent QB in the 3rd.

I'd keep Nix. Much better value for a player who isn't going to score that much less than Burrow (ESPN projects him at 1.7 fewer points per game than Burrow). Would give you your 1st, 3rd, and 4th to get BPA at RB/WR

I completely agree.

did the Bengals upgrade their defense in the offseason?

you want shares of the Cincy offense

and in a 5-keeper league...and 4th round pick is like a 6th or 7th round pick

Nix + 4th round RB/WR > Burrow + 7th round RB/WR.
