The same hyperbole was being blown during their rookie years. That is the point

Daniela will regress just like all QBs do

Every year there is a team that gets on a magic run and the next year they struggle

Wow, what a disaster. Bills are the only hope.

See, this is why I said it doesn't mean shat yet. WAYYYY too soon to call Daniels elite.

I remember the Shaun King hype. I remember the Jets finally finding their new Namath in Sanchez.

There are only 6 or so teams that wouldn't trade their QB in a heartbeat for Daniels.

Bills
Chiefs
Ravens
Texans
Bengels
Chargers

Everyone else is lining up.

Washington isn't even a .500 team without him. Dude had 31 TDs, 3500 passing yards and nearly a 1000 yards rushing. And he has one good WR.

He may regress but those are crazy numbers.

Boy, the shat is getting deep in here.

Nix put up similar numbers with absolute dogshat around him.

Daniels has a good/great TE as well.

After the No. 1 Lions led the No. 6 Commanders 14-10 with 7:44 left in the 2nd quarter, the Commanders outscored the Lions 35-17 to stun the Lions 45-31 on the road to reach the NFC Championship Game by winning the turnover margin 5 to 0 and scoring 21 points off of 3 of those turnovers. The Commanders made their first NFC Championship Game appearance since a 41-10 home win over the Lions in the 1991-92 NFC Championship Game on 1/12/1992, leaving the Cowboys as the only NFC team that has not reached the NFC Championship Game appearance since the start of the 1996 season. I noticed several other trends:

1. The now Commanders have won 7 consecutive games, including 2 consecutive road playoff wins over the Buccaneers and the Lions.

2. The NFC North playoff teams the Lions, Vikings, and Packers went a combined 40-11 during the regular season but 0-3 in the playoffs.

3. The Lions become the first No. 1 seed to go one and done since the 2021 Packers, who also lost to the No. 6 49ers. That was also the last No. 6 seed to reach a conference championship game.

4. The Lions squandered a 15-2 regular season and the NFC's No. 1 seed to become the 4th 15-win NFL team that failed to reach the Super Bowl, joining the 1998 Vikings, 2004 Steelers, and 2011 Packers.

5. The Lions became the 2nd 15-win team that failed to even reach a conference championship game, joining the 2011 Packers.

6. The Lions lost a home playoff game for first time since 28-24 home loss to the Packers in the 1993-94 Wild Card playoff game on 1/8/1994.

They've only played 2 before today, and both of those were last year. The other 8 (all WC) were on the road.

Yes, that is a small sample size. I probably should delete that trend. They had not played a home playoff game between 1993 and last year.

And had Baker not stupidly fumbled last weekend, it would have been TB beating Detroit and only '15 or so teams wanting to trade their QB for Daniels".

Wasn't able to watch the game live sadly but catching the replays now. Tough loss for the Lions. Just one of those games where everything seemed off for them. Goff in the post season is....ugh. But the whole team looked off honestly.

Daniels went off for sure though. Great game from them. Still wish nothing but losses for the commies always.

Nix had a great season. But was aided by a good offensive line and a top 3 defense.

Washington is middle of the road at both.

Finally watched the whole game. Man, tough loss again. TO battle and the defense being shredded finally catching up. Along with that 12 man penalty. That's one I know Dan wants back so bad to call the timeout.

I'm a newish Lions fan (followed Dan there) and really interested and excited to see what's in store for the future. The old salts are doom and gloom of course but I don't have the generations of bitterness weighing me down, yet. The Lions will return a super solid core of young guys. The future is still bright in my eyes.

The Lions have the worst defense in the league -

The performance a bit over hyped similar to the rim Hurts had in the Super Bowl they blew

Daniels is nice but recency bias is very strongly influencing the ESPN

Sophomore slumps are absolutely real and no guarantee Daniels is immune….

Don't get me wrong, I do think his year was better than Stroud's first year. But 12 months ago Texans fans thought they had their foreseeable future franchise qb as well…

Are we all so jaded that we can't just live in the moment of what the Redskins did yesterday?

A lot of Debbie Downers in here.

A team missing 18 players that was a 10 point favorite and had the best odds for the super bowl.

I swear some of guys would root for north Korea if you heard that an Aggie was the general. Its OK to enjoy the success of ther teams.
