66 years ago...at Kezar Stadium, against SF in the NFL semi-finals.

1958, pre-Super Bowl.

Kezar still stands, BTW, having outlived its successor, Candlestick Park. It is still in use, for high school games.

Looks like it was a thrilling game. Detroit was down 24-7 at the half and they came storming back to win it 31-27.

Here's hoping our boy Dan Campbell gets this one.

Since the NFL expanded to 32 teams in 2002:

NFC or AFC title game appearances:
Detroit 1
Dallas 0
Houston 0
Miami 0
Cleveland 0

Playoff wins:
Houston 5
Dallas 4
Detroit 2
Cleveland 1
Miami 0

It's time for the Lions.

A meaningless but interesting parallel:

1957: San Francisco led 24-7 at the half and lost.

2024: Detroit leads 24-7 at the half...

That version of Kezar held 60K fans and was torn down. In its place is a fun place to hang out and run laps on a really nice track.
