I'm in a total points league that goes into week 18. Anybody else have fantasy this week?

Biggest thing is trying to determine what NFL teams have things to play for and not resting starters. Baltimore and 49ers both clinched home field so not sure if they have reason to not rest starters. It seems like almost all other teams have something to play for this week unless somebody is locked into a seeding that week 18 is irrelevant.

*please don't derail this into a "how dumb week 18 leagues are". We all know the reasons for not doing them so want to try and keep this helpful to teams that are still playing

I have 2 open bench spots. I'm stacked with eagles and lions so the biggest question is will both those teams play all starters and have reason to go all out? If so then there isn't much deliberation on who to start

I'm curious why ESPN fantasy is predicting more points for Jordan Mason than E Mitchell. Maybe because Mitchell is currently listed as questionable?

ESPN has checked out since they know no serious leagues play wk 18

the Lions are an interesting situation

Dan says the starters are going to play...and it's a good matchup at home vs. the Vikings...

but a very slim chance for Detroit to improve its seeding

stuck in the #3 seed unless the Cowboys and Eagles lose I believe

Mason will probably play more since Mccafrey is banged up and Mitchell might have a bigger role in playoffs.

Flex: EM if he bounces back from illness today and is full participation Friday. If not probably roll dice that lions play St. Brown. I could see Darius Slayton having a big day against PHI pass D if he happens to be out there.

Gotcha. So maybe they won't really have a choice but to play everyone for most of game or at least until it's a blowout

That's a good point, I doubt Dan will do anything half A. Probably start A. St. Brown.

so from a risk management standpoint...if your team usually starts 2 Lions

among Goff, ARSB, LaPorta, Montgomery, and Gibbs

would you try to find a way to cut that down to 1 Lion to hedge against starters only playing the first half?

Yes I've been kicking that around today.

To further complicate things the guy nipping at my heels has Goff as one of his Qbs. I have st brown, Laporta and Montgomery.

Little bit of a delima but if he keeps Goff in his starting lineup I'm going to be hard pressed not to keep both laporta and st brown in there to hopefully hedge Goff production.

Montgomery is the one that I'm unsure of. If they rest starters or the game gets out of hand are they going to let Montgomery bleed clock with a bunch of carries or bench both him and Gibbs?

Makes me lean towards starting Henry or even CEH if he's the starter

Kind of ridiculous asking this, but should I pick up Jags D instead of using 9ers? Thinking they're going to be resting most of their starting defense.

the Jax D/ST seems like the safer play.

both SF and Cleveland are resting a lot of players --- and are outside the top 10 D/ST rankings

back to the Lions discussion...

Montgomery and Gibbs (to a lesser extent) seem like the high risk players

would consider starting the likes of Singletary, Zeke, and others ahead of Montgomery

I think ARSB and LaPorta could hit their expected point totals in the 1st half

TD run for Najee in the 1st half

perhaps hard to believe...but he's going to finish with 1,100 yards from scrimmage and 8 TD's

I agree also really like Gibbs but with LaPorta and ARSB in my starting lineup think I'd go Hall as a hedge if DET pulls starters early

it will be interesting to see how many carries the Lions 3rd string RB (C. Reynolds) gets today
