Well, by the time LaPorta got that third TD Saturday, I was down about 50 in my 2-week semifinal.

Then a funny thing happened, and by funny, I mean fantastic. The Cowboys looked like crap and Dak played one of his worst games of the year, while James Cook suddenly turned into Thurman Thomas and got me 35.1.

So now in the semifinals vs. the defending champs, I'm down 238.2-183.48 with Jalen Hurts (please play), Kenneth Walker III, and AJ Brown going tonight. 54.73 points gets me into the title matchup. I've got Mariota waiting if need be, but I sure hope it's Jalen.

Our other semifinal matchup is currently 234.82-231.76 with the first guy starting DK Metcalf tonight and the other starting Jake Elliott.

If I win and the DK team wins, it will be me and my brother for the title matchup for the first time in 20+ years of playing FFL together.

I'm up 33 going into tonight's game but I have Philly's kicker and he has Swift and Hurts or Geno. There's a chance they're both out tonight.

Thinking big brain moves here. Should I drop my kicker and add one of Drew Lock or Mariota so he's stuck with the worse of the two? Or am I overthinking it?

With Hurts, he's projected to win by 2.

Edit to add, I don't think it's worth the risk. I'm essentially gambling on the upside of one of the QB's scoring more than what my kicker's worth.

So if my kicker is projected for 9 points, but I drop him then I'm hoping Swift and whatever QB is left to not score more than 33. I think that's messing too much with the fantasy gods.

Ah, my leagues you can drop bench players. I suppose your opponent could put their QB in IR then pick up the back up. I'd just roll with Elliot in that case.

Got a tough draw in round 1 here after muffling away my bye week down the stretch. Other 2 teams playing on the other side of the bracket are doing much worse and would've been easy wins for either of us! Projected points:

Need 3 points out of Metcalf but our yardage scoring is different; no fractional points and it's 1 per 20. So I either need 60+ yards receiving or a TD from him to win. 40-60 yards is a tie (but I think I still win the TB with most kicker points this week).

I got 10.0 more points from Devonta Smith to beat my opponent 143.92 to 123.32 to finish the regular season 9-6 and secure a playoff spot. My opponent dropped to 9-6 but will still be in the playoffs. The top 2 teams in my league finished 10-5. My playoff seeding will either be No. 3 or No. 4. Me league has a 4-team playoff format with the semifinals in week 16 and the championship game in week 17.

I am glad the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 20-17 because it gives the 49ers a 1-game lead over the Cowboys, Eagles, and Lions for the NFC's No. 1 seed with 3 regular season games remaining. If the 49ers win their next two games against the Baltimore Ravens (home) and Washington Commanders (road), they will clinch the No. 1 seed by Week 17 and can rest their starters in Week 18 on top of a first round bye. Neither the Cowboys nor Eagles can finish better than 13-4, and the 49ers own head-to-head wins over both of them. Even if the Lions win out to finish 13-4, the 49ers will still finish ahead of them with a 10-2 conference record that would trump the Lions 9-3 conference record.

It's not completely meaningless -- I do get the weekly high points cash. But I'd much rather get it next week!

I was within 238-232 when Hurts threw the INT and decked my dreams. Not bad when I was down 238-183 going into the night.
My brother won 245-236 with Metcalfe's late production. For a large chunk of the night he was down by 0.6 points after Elliott's FG when Metcalfe had been held to a single catch.
