TLDR: I got into the playoffs on the last play of the game last night.


So our 20+ year, 10-person ESPN league entered the league with 2 teams having clinched the playoffs at 8-4, and then a clsuter*****of the rest of us trying to get in. Two guys at 7-5, one at 6-5-1, and me at 6-6.

My path in was clear as mud. Win my matchup, have my brother beat one of the 7-5 guys, have the other co-leader beat the second 7-5 guy , and have the 6-5-1 guy also lose. Two of those things happened by the time the Sunday night game rolled around, with the only one up for grabs was the second 8-4/7-5 guy.
But not only did I need 7-5 guy to lose, but my team had to win the head-to-head seasonal points tie-breaker with him. We started the week with me at 1,492.54 and him at 1,489.14, not a lot of room for error.

When the nightcap started, he was down 142.36-125.6, but he had Mahomes going. I entered the game with 104.92 points, but with Pahecho, Dillon, and Kelce to come, along with Kirk tonight.

As you all know by now, Mahomes was bad throughout, but had enough points to get 7-5 guy with 2 points late in the fourth quarter when he threw the pick, knocking him down to 138, while I had gotten ahead of him thanks largely to Pacheco's big night.

Of course Green Bay settled for the FG and Mahomes had one last shot. The 7-5 team was within 142.36-140.6 entering those last 4 plays, but 4 straight incompletions saw him fall short and got me in the playoffs.

i got eliminated in one league on Thursday, when my 6-6 opponent, who had fewer total points but a better record than me, was streaming Geno Smith who combined with DK and ripped off about 70 points against me. Then on Sunday, to add insult to injury, the star-studded duo of James Conner and Trey McBride went on the road to Pittsburgh to rip off 23 points a piece against me, and the defense he was streaming, LAC- got him 17 points.

i'm over here getting 4 points from Swift and 8 points form Garrett Wilson.

Our league has been true bizarro one this year. The highest point scorer is going to go 5-8 and lost matchups when he scored 124 and 146.

My brother is going to finish the regular season 9-4 but is 7th out of in scoring.

I was commenting to my brother that 2 of my top 3 scorers yesterday were Nico Collins, who I didn't know at all until August, and the Falcons' defense, who I never would have dreamed of starting until they got to play the Jets. It's a cruel game!

I'm down 19 with Jacksonville defense to play tonight. Got ****ed on Dell's injury. If I would've played Sutton or even Godwin over him, I would be golden.

losing Justin Jefferson, Anthony Richardson, Kyren Williams and Khalil Herbert to IR - all around the same time in week 5 - really killed me. Garrett Wilson losing his QB on the fourth snap of the season was not good. Olave's new QB actually being worse than Andy Daulton was last year was... not expected. Inconsistent low floors for guys like Deandre Swift and Javonte Williams hurt. Aaron Jones on the bench all year in a lost season didn't help. Betting in the draft on a RB that a new coaching staff paid 24 million dollars for to pair with the #1 overall draft pick - Miles Sanders- was a bad bet. Also betting in the draft on Dalvin's long time backup becoming a solid lead back on a good team - Alexander Mattison - another bad bet. I think LaPorta was the only bright spot on my squad for a while.

week 14 - final week of regular FF season and already eliminated - i'll get JJ back. yay.

I need roughly 30 points combined from Chase + Browning. That will put me at earning a bye with the 7th highest point total, otherwise I will end up 6th (last spot in playoffs).

- it starts at the top...which team got CMC at #1 or #2 overall

he's been great with 1,400 yards from scrimmage and 17 total touchdowns

- the next thing was drafting Mostert or Montgomery or Pacheco in the middle rounds

they have been RB1's that were available in the 6th, 7th, or 8th rounds

- then using a late round pick or working the waiver wire for Kyren, Achane, Nico, Tank, and others

- also trusting the older WR's namely Evans and Keenan. I think they were 4th or 5th round picks

on the flipside...what a disappointment Ekeler has been

I would bench him for those guys. The Chargers as a whole have been a dud.

I am in 2 money leagues. 1 auction 1 snake. Auction draft was first and I got CMC. Snake draft was later and I went Ekeler instead of CMC just to spread my "share" a little bit.

Doing great in 1 of the leagues and absolutely terrible in the other...He's been the biggest non-injury bust of round 1 so far I would say this year.

CMC fell to me at #4 (behind JJ, Chase, and Ekeler) and I drafted Achane in the 12th round. They've carried me to a 12-1 record

I took Chase at 2 in my family league. Was really looking at CMC. I've thought about going back and seeing what my record would be, but I really don't want to know. Just playing spoiler now. My work league I took Kelce at 6, I have the chance to move to No 1 in that league if No 1 looses tonight. I am No 1 in points, so get the tie breaker. For all my earlier complaining about Dak, he has been nails.

was it two or three years ago - 2020 maybe- i had #1 overall and got burned by CMC injury. so this year, I had #1 overall again and thought a WR like JJ was less injury risk.. i hate the number 1 pick because 20 & 21 is such a drop off. would much rather have 3, 4, 5 or even at the turn and have 10 and 11.

Would take a dedicated commissioner, but it would be nice to play in a league where you had the option to switch out players ruled out in the first half with a bench player that has yet to play.

I am down 33.58 points with Joe Mixon and Christian Kirk to play tonight. My opponent does not have any remaining players. I just need big games from Joe Mixon and Christian Kirk to win a 4th straight game and improve to 9-4.

The way I look at it, Mixon is a safer bet for me to get at least 6 or so points, but Warren currently has more upside. Matchup wise, Warren looks to have a good one in Arizona. I am leaning Warren. Any thoughts?

Well damn. Mixon had his best fantasy game of the year tonight before the 2nd half even started. He would have gotten me the win and solidified a week 1 playoff bye.

I'm holding out hope for eckler. They are a fledgling playoff team (starters will play in our playoffs) and they face Denver, Vegas, Buffalo, Denver.

This was the most thrilling Monday Night Football game of the year. I got only 3.6 points from Christian Kirk because he suffered a groin injury after a 26-yard catch. I got 29.70 points from Joe Mixon, but my fantasy team lost by 0.28 (136.06 to 135.78) and fell to 8-5.
