Criticism of the o line, especially the turnstile that was Terence Steele, is fair, but you still cannot take sacks like that late in the game when you're chasing a touchdown.

Kind of hard to not take a sack when the pass rush blows right past the RT every other play. I mean Dak could barely make the first read on numerous plays.

Very encouraging game in many ways. Offense moved the ball pretty much at will, and we had a great shot at the end on the road against probably the best team in the league.

The goal for the rest of the season is getting back to that spot in January and finishing it off next time. If Dak and Ceedee play like that the rest of the year I like our chances.

I've given Dak a lot of crap for that sack along with everyone.

According to Bob's image here, doesnt seem like he could have realistically thrown it away...which maybe we should be having routes that account for our RT getting beat with ease in the 2nd half often.
That route tree is disgusting…

Grounding is loss of down and a 10 second run off there, so it's really no different than a sack. The reality is there's nothing you can do when your tackle gets beat that fast. Even if you throw it away it's going to be IG.

Mccarthy doesn't challenge the spot on the first drive, led to a td. 3 fumbles all fell straight back to the eagles. Dak stepped out on the 2 pt conversion. Steele got owned all game. Mccarthy's clock management in the final 4 mins was bad. Numerous awful calls that either killed a cowboys drive or extended an eagles drive.

I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but with all that they were on the 6 with 4 chances to win it with 27 seconds left, and the whole offense fell apart.

****, I hate the eagles. Need to keep winning, beat the eagles at home, and maybe do something in the playoffs.

Dak will tell you he screwed up at the end.

You can run all kinds of plays there. But you have a primary receiver on every play. You look. If it's not there, the ball is thrown away. Immediately.

You do that on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down. On 4th down, you extend the play.

YOU CANNOT THROW THE BALL AWAY INSIDE THE TACKLE BOX. Any sort of heave out of bounds there is grounding.

Apparently Steele allowed 8 pressures against SF and another 8 pressures tonight. Not great

100% agree. We can beat them there no doubt.

Eagles next 4 games are brutal: Chiefs, Bills, 49ers, Cowboys.

Our next 4: Giants, Panthers, Commanders, Seahawks.

We play them again December 10th at home (where we're much better) and that game will be for the division lead. Mark my words!

Problem is we have the toughest 5 game stretch in the league this year coming up soon

Seattle
Philly
Buffalo
Miami
Detroit

3-2 in that stretch would be an achievement, and it's very tough to see us finishing better than 12-5. Which means Philly needs to lose at least 4 more games, possible 5.

6 inches from a td with our rookie TE, what looked like a promising drive killed by a weak hold, and a chance to win at the end inside the 10. The team fought hard. Just need to keep winning. The schedule sets up well for 10-3 going into December. If they can be relatively healthy and playing well going into the playoffs then they have a good chance to do something.

Team played well (was listening on radio on drive back in from out of state). The last 30 seconds of the game sounded like a complete cluster F with McCarthy pulling another McCarthy clock mismanagement clinic.

Seeing the tweet above with that route tree, it's no wonder the Cowboys struggle to score in the red zone. Radio guys were saying, they had no idea who the primary WR would have even been in that play but it didn't matter because Steele was beat off the snap.

Clean it up, let's get rolling next week versus NYG

A bunch of nonsense.

Taking a sack is terrible. But quit acting if you automatically get whistled for intentionally grounding when you throw the ball away.

Assume that the target is #87 or somebody on right side of play. Just throw it hard and high. If Dak puts it into the stands, you get a penalty. But if he just throws it somewhat out of reach, you live to fight again.

You throw the ball away without being obnoxious about it.

If you put that ball anywhere remotely close to a receiver while attempting to throw it away, you're begging for an INT

Steele single handedly made it a no win situation. Give dak a reasonable amount of time and he would've found a way to throw it away and live for another down. It was an all around cluster****.

Throwing the ball well out of bounds in the pocket in that situation is an automatic flag in the NFL. Period, full stop. The ref doesn't even hesitate. Throwing the ball anywhere near a receiver in the field of play is likely going to get picked. And any attempt to throw from the pocket there exposes you to more injury risk than taking the sack.

The reason QBs usually take sacks in the pocket is because it's the lesser of three evils.

Familiar with many of you from the Rangers thread. I'm actually an Eagles fan, so now it gets awkward.

I thought Dallas played extremely well and ran the ball for huge chunks in the 3rd quarter. The holding penalty late in the 3rd quarter was killer. This game was a tossup and Philly was fortunate to escape with a win. Neither secondary could cover without holding. Other than the fact that they are really good, I couldn't understand why Philly's secondary had no plan vs. Lamb or Ferguson, then you added Tolbert late. We were a total mess. On the 4th and 8 play, Dak missed Ferguson over the middle for a walk-in TD. In typical Dak fashion he mixed the good with the not so good. He's still an amazing leader.

There is going to be a huge collision in January between Eagles, Cowboys, and 49ers. No clue who survives that. Games won/lost in early November have no impact on that.
