Trade for Surtain?

I read this on cbs sportsiline. Would the cowboys give up a first round pick for Surtain? I think they would, but the Broncos might want more. Trevon Diggs was one of the best 2 or 3 players on the team. Such a big loss. Love to see him and Surtain in the Cowboys secondary next year.

The names around the league that I'm hearing today I've been hearing for weeks. I continue to be told anyone in Denver can be had, and that would include star young cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

That'd be awesome but there's no way we can pay both him and Diggs long term.

I like him but Diggs is my guy. I think he's the leader of this team.

Broncos aren't trading Surtain.

You think the Chiefs would trade Mahomes for a first?

Listening to 104.3, they're wanting to trade everyone. Bet this win today stops that thinking. Seems like everyone was wanting them to lose out.

Cowboys need oline and possibly a big time rb to team with pollard. Surtain is not even on the radar for trades, imo.

Surtain has been the constant player who has not been available. Everyone else, prior to today, was fair game.

The win today could change the philosophy now at deadline and much less likely to sell the farm. I still wouldn't be surprised if any of Jeudy, Sutton, Bolles, Jewell, or Simmons were traded.

I feel like we're not too far off from seeing this thread here, unironically.

It would take a ton more than just a first to get Surtain

Probably so.

When Ramsey was traded to the Rams, the Rams gave up two 1sts, and a fourth. Three years later, the Rams got a third round pick and a TE from the Dolphins for Ramsey.

But the Rams won the Super in 2022, so maybe it was worth it.

I wouldn't give up more than a first and a second for Surtain. Two Firsts is a little steep I think as is, the Cowboys ceiling is to win a wild card game. But as we all know, QBs and the great passing teams usually advance in the playoffs.

I agree with a previous poster about O-Line being the biggest need. RB Deuce Vaughn and Dowdle and Pollard all have pretty unique running styles, I could see adding another bigger back but I wouldn't go over offering a third to get one.

I'd think Surtain would require giving up a one and more, maybe a one and two?

Keep in mind, not all draft picks pan out. Would you trade two Mazi Smiths for Surtain?

Oh I know it. Taco and Bobby Carpenter are still fresh in my memory. I remember Lafleur also. Probably several others.

From the Cowboys side, I would trade Mazi and another first (say mid-round Guard) for Surtain, and I like Mazi.

But I put a lot of value on CBs, and Gilmore is good but he is on the downhill slope. Surtain is a player you just don't trade, so its probably just a bait and switch about Surtain being available.
