I'm always looking for things to do with my son. He isn't into sports at all. I drag him to a few baseball games every year because I like it so much. I thought about taking him to a Chiefs game this year. Thought he might get carried away with the crowd. Much more likely in football than baseball.

We went to a Chiefs game in 2013. He was only five and doesn't remember it, but I got pretty good seats for about $70 each on Stubhub.

Just now I went to stubhub, seatgeek, ticketsforless, and ticketmaster. Cheapest two seats I could find anywhere in Arrowhead were $214 each (before fees). I know they've two won Super Bowls, but I still thought I'd find something in the corner of the end zone for $90 or $100.

Maybe I'll just drag my 15 yo to a sports bar for the next game?!?

The last NFL game I went to was, I believe, Andre Johnson's 2nd or 3rd year with the Texans

I really haven't missed it.

You're combining 2 tough factors - the best team in the league and an old stadium. Go take him to see the Colts or the Bears or some other team that's not too far away. They sucks and their tickets are cheap.

Twin peaks?? You mean twin buttcheeks, don't you? The cheeks are bigger than the peaks in BCS. But the beer is really cold and the food is edible so all in all it is a good nfl experience.

When are you trying to go? I find that seats are WAY more expensive if you are trying to get tickets a week or two in advance. Go look at games in late October / November and you'll probably find much better prices.

Was looking for tickets for the 3 PM Sunday 10/22 game. It's a two hour drive to Arrowhead, so I can't really make a night game. Don't want to wait for a December game because it can be brutally cold by then.

NFL games are for pounding beer and pounding opposing fans

Not a place for kids

The cheapest you are probably going to find are going to be day of game when scalpers just want to unload the tickets for what they can get. With you being 2 hours away, it means you really have to either check the night before or early morning.

Maybe just hit World's of Fun again and ride roller coasters until you throw up. That would be a fun memory he'd talk about for the next 50 years.

I was curious, so I went to the Colts website. They play the Saints on 10/29, and NOLA is my favorite team. Tickets on seatgeek start at $45. I'm not going to drive 5.5 hours to get there, but I'm happy to hear a father and son can attend an NFL game for under $500 outside of Chiefs Kingdom.

Gotcha. Yeah man, it's probably just a Mahomes / Super Bowl thing. I was considering a Cowboys game this year and there were definitely decent seats in the $150 range and plenty below $100 in less desirable locations.

Supply and demand and Arrowhead is a prime spot right now.

You realize if you plan it out in advance, airplane tickets are super cheap, right?

I f***ing hate flying. If I wanted another man to grope me and check out my body cavities, I'd commit a crime and go to prison.

I'm driving to Dallas (ten hours each way) the weekend after this game, and I don't want to travel two weekends in a row. I'm also not really a big NFL fan. Was looking for something to do with my son and thought he might have fun at a Chiefs game. We usually go to KC when doing "city stuff."

I'm also strongly considering attending a FCS Missouri State home game this season. Tickets are something like $22 each for bench seating with a back. It's three hours each way, but I could get a hotel room with the money I'd save, and I really enjoy watching FCS football.

What do you know? Taylor Swift fans driving up ticket prices made abcnews.com. Life is funny. I've never heard one of her songs, but somehow she's pricing me out of a football game.

The fact Taylor Swift is driving up eyeballs and ticket prices because she's attending a game and they may get a glimpse of her in her box or can see her facial reaction shows how ****ed we are as a country. China is laughing at us.

I did the same thing today.

We live in MO. Thought it'd be great to take my wife and 4yo son to a chiefs game as he hasn't been to a football game yet. 200+ for cheapest seats. No thanks - I don't even like the chiefs. I'll watch on my 75" while

I took my son to Arrowhead when he was five, and it was one of my all-time parenting fails. Crazy sh** everywhere in the parking lot at 11 AM. I saw people spiking beers with Jack Daniels and then funneling. Power drinking on par with NOLA or Las Vegas.

Now that he's 15, and I'm expecting it, it will be easier to laugh off. If I could afford it, that is.

If he isn't in to sports, why are you wanting to drag him to a football game, especially one you'd have to travel to?

Take him to something HE wants to do.

The fact that lesser men will pay money likes desperate street John to go get a glimpse of a better man in person (probably even wear his shirt like an approving woman does after a good rodgering) when it's free on TV tells you a lot about where we are as a society. China is laughing at us.

He's 15. He doesn't want to do anything but play games online with his friends.

We go to Worlds of Fun every summer and ride roller coasters. That's also in KC. We go to KC a lot.

I've been to just a couple of NFL games (Texans, so semi-pro). It's just not a fun environment compared to Aggie games. It's a different crowd. I'm afraid Kyle Field is trending that way too with the various changes over the last few years. I'm not anti-alcohol but I don't think it's been good for the game day experience.

If you emptied out the people who really can't afford to be there, the stadiums would be only a quarter full.

Maxed credit cards, empty retirement accounts, and 8 year car loans that never get paid off, and zero college savings for their kids - most of these folks don't need to be buying $16 beers.
