so with the #1 pick (10 team 1.0 PPR), I'll be taking Jefferson. Seems to be a consensus everywhere.

...but then waiting for #20 and 21 looks like it could be a challenge. I don't think anyone in my league will reach for a QB in rd 1 or 2 (mahomes went round 6 last year in this league) and if JT does not sign with Miami or the mystery team today, he won't move up and go in the top 19 either. If none of those two things happen, then who should I target for last pick in 2nd and first pick in 3rd at 20 and 21?

JT staying in Indy doesn't sound promising unless a later trade happens.
Waddle as a #2, entering the season with an injury, and a QB who seemed one light hit away from early retirement last season doesn't sound promising.
Too early for a QB in this league, probably?
Olave? Carr might be better than Dalton or Winston, but not by much and MT is back at 100% competing for targets along with shaeed.
Davante Smith is another #2 - seems early
Multple rankings and ADP lists i'm seeing indicate it's probably too early to take a Najee or Rhamondre or the TE2 Mark Andrews.

current yahoo ADP suggests ARSB and Garrett Wilson could fall to me, but Mahomes and JT aren't going top 19 in my league.
current fantasypros ADP suggests ARSB could fall to me, but again, Mahomes isn't isn't going top 19 in my league.
current yahoo PPR rankings suggest my predicament as I'm trying to scrip it here.
current fantsypros PPR rankings suggest Derek Henry and Josh Jacobs fall to me, but I don't see Waddle and Olave going ahead of them in the top 19.

I'm thinking I'll be taking Waddle with one of those two picks. Pair with Olave or Smith and get RBs at 40 & 41?

Don't take JJ. Take your top RB. My advice, and you'll get a better look at the turnaround later.

Quote:

You may be right come the end of the season but Bijan at 4 seems like quite the reach.

At that position I'd want a player with a higher floor than a rookie RB.

Definitely a reach based on current ADP, but obviously he won't come back to me in Round 2, and I'm okay sacrificing floor for ceiling.

IMO it's not worth reaching for just because he won't be there for you later. That doesn't justify a reach.

I see Bijan as one those guys to keep an eye and if he slips through the cracks and he falls to you then you pounce and snag him up but it's too much risk to jump up to get especially at #4

it's been nearly a decade since you could count on a Falcons player in FF (Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman)

Rip to my team and anyone else who drafted JT!

sheesh.. looks like the dolphins and the mystery team didn't come through with a good enough offer for JT.

for teams that haven't drafted yet, how do you look at this for JT? can't play first four games.. stashing him in case he gets traded in the next month could be a league winning gamble move, but when do you draft him because there's a huge risk he stays on colts not playing.

Feel like it is hard to take him any earlier than the fifth or sixth round...there is a chance he doesn't play at all this year.

Yea I objectively wouldn't touch him until at least the 5th... I had Bell that hold-in years of his and it was absolutely terrible. Subjectively I am not wasting draft capital on him unless he really dropped and I felt good about my team. Someone else will grab him before I do.

how do you feel/ how do you rank these mid-round RBs after the top 10 or 11 are gone in the first 3 rounds?
(Fantasypros current PPR ADP ranking listed)

32: Rhamondre - Zeke Elliot may eat into volume with passing down work
36: Jahmyr Gibbs - David Montgomery may take goal line like Jamaal W did to Swift there last year
39: Aaron Jones - split with AJD
41: Breece Hall - split with Dalvin C, returning from major surgery
43: Ken Walker III - Sea drafted Charbonnet high- may split
47: Dameon Pierce - #1 back volume on a bad team - Singletary may take passing downs
49: Miles Sanders - #1 back volume on a bad team
57: Alvin Kamara - suspended wk1-3, Jamaal W and Taysom may take goal line opportunities
60: JK Dobbins - returning from major surgery
62: Alexander Mattison - will he get the dalvin volume treatment of old in that offense?
63: James Conner - #1 back volume on a bad team
64: Rachaad White - #1 back volume on a bad team, will Chase Edmonds split?
65: Dalvin Cook - splitting with Breece H.
70: Javonte Williams - #1 back volume on a bad team
71: Isaiah Pacheco - #1 back on a pass-first team and still give way to mckinnon on passing downs
73: D'Andre Swift - #1 back that may split with R. Penny and give passing downs to Gainwell
74: James Cook - split and give goal line work to Damien Harris?
84: David Montgomery - could take all the goal line work from Jahmyr and earn more even split
89: AJ Dillon - backup split to Aaron Jones

I'm thinking about going RB-zero in rounds 1-3 and targeting two RBs in 4 and 5 and more later in my draft. Thinking about who to prioritize. I doubt I'll have a chance at Rhamondre or Gibbs as i'm at the end of round 4. Would it be a reach to take Pierce at 40 overall if he's still there? I'm surprised his ADP is 47 still. I'm thinking Pierce and Sanders or Walker at 40 and 41 if I can. if kamara or mattison are still there at 60 i'm taking one of them. ...or is Mattison worth a reach at 40/41 instead of 60/61?

I like Walker in the 4th round. The rookie will get carries until he starts fumbling...which most rookies do

Montgomery is a very good 6th / 7th round pick, because...another rookie RB

Conner is a 3-down back including the goal line. Another good 5th / 6th round pick in RB zero format

right now Mattison is the guy in Minnesota. Don't know if he can hold up for 17 games though, but the Vikings should score points

do you like Walker III better than Miles Sanders? I think with rookie qb and crappy WRs, they'll be running a lot and Chubba Hubbard won't be splitting that much with what they paid for Miles. Walker did get worn down and hurt down the stretch last year, so I think SEA will be motivated to get charbonnet up to speed and helping with the work load.

I like Pierce in that range, should get great volume, and he seems to be a talented back.

I think JK Dobbins is a good value, talented back in a super run-heavy offense. He is also a year removed from his big knee injury, so you should be safe on that front.

I like D'Andre Swift a bit later; obviously super talented...I do not buy into the Gainwell talk at all.

I like David Montgomery and AJ Dillon a bit later. Both are going to be in split backfields but should score touchdowns.

I am avoiding Aaron Jones...I just like other stuff you can get in that range.

I am avoiding Miles Sanders, again, I prefer other guys you can get in that range to him.

Rachaad White makes me nervous, I do not think he is very good. Sean Tucker has been looking good in camp, I assume that offense is terrible.

I think Javonte Williams is a clear fade. He had a brutal knee injury and needs a year to get back to normwl.

Also, I do not like James Conner. He has been injury-prone and is playing on a team that has no incentive to win at all. If he gets knicked up, I see him getting shut down. I also think that team is going to be incredibly bad.
W

yes, I've avoided drafting Miles Sanders so far

I will be targeting mattison and Conner in PPR from that group. Don't like any of the other ones as they are either going to be in a straight 50/50 time share or they get zero pass catching opps. I don't like drafting rush only backs on bad teams in PPR. However, guys like Conner are in bad teams but will get a lot of receptions to save the floor.

I would be happy nabbing any of Jones, Gibbs, Walker, Rhamondre, Dobbins, Conner, or Pierce, then I think there's a drop-off to the Breece/Pacheco/Sanders tier. If Kamara is still around late I think he is worth snagging too. The only guy below Conner that I find intriguing is Pacheco, the rest I think have limited ceilings.

What kind of strategy do you guys like at (2) and (19) in a 10 team non-ppr?

Draft totally crept up on me this year, have barely looked at anything.

just checked I somehow won the damn that championship that year after drafting Bell 2nd overall, plus my "RB1" Jordan Howard in the 3rd, and Josh Gordon 4th

4 figure payout, nothing really special about the roster I ended up putting together limped through the season barely above 500 then survived playoffs riding hot hands of Evans/A Cooper/M Williams and TE cheat code Jaylen Samuels, edged out 1st place team with CMC/Zeke/Diggs by 1pt in championship

if #1 takes JJ, you take CMC at #2, and vice versa, and you should be able to grab an ARSB or Garrett Wilson or some such at #19

Had our work League draft Sunday evening. Meant to post this earlier, but, life.

Drafting last in a 12 team PPR league with no keeper yielded the following:

QB - Trevor Lawrence
WR - AJ Brown
WR - DK Metcalf
WR - Dionte "pileup" Johnson
(Yeah, we start 3 receivers - ugh)
RB - Nick Chubb
RB - A. Jones
Flex - Rachaad White
K - J. Myers (Seattle)
Def - Bills
Bench - Juju (considering moving him to Flex - we'll see how ****ty the bucs offense is), Samaje Perine, Geno Smith, Sam LaPorta, Rochon Johnson, Chark.

Mix of ringers and rubes in this league - top pick was Mahomes - but for the most part they know their ***** I got Chubb and AJ Brown at the 12/13 turn.

Would anyone consider flipping Justin Herbert for Damien Pierce?

I own JT and my RBs aren't that great. Outside of him I have JK, Antonio Gibson, Damien Harris, Jeff Wilson Jr.

QBs on waivers are Dak, Danny Dimes, Russ

How long do you want to ignore this user?

Yeah, I'd do that. Get Danny Dimes. Dameon is the classic offensive identity in transition bell cow while DeMeco recreates his dream defense.

If I'm holding Pierce and looking at your proposal with your dog shot RBs before the season starts, heck no I'm not helping you out. How much is Herbert really going to help me?

He sent the offer to me so he should be asking himself that question lol

I'm still hesitant…if I knew JT would be back week 4, I wouldn't do a thing…the uncertainty sucks.

Tank Bigsby
Tyler Allegeier

Maybe even Elijah Mitchell might be out there.

No. Kendre, D'Onta Foreman, Roschon Johnson, Deon Jackson, CEH, Gainwell, Ty Chandler, Sean Tucker, and Fournette are probably the best backs available.
