Basically you're restructuring a lot of players' deals to spread out signing bonus money and cutting guys like Rush and Gallup. Use the money saved to go after top-flight free agentsChris Jones, Patrick Queen, etc. The drawback is that you're nuking future cap space and should expect the team to suck those years.

The Effing Rams went for it and only really sucked one year and were back in the playoffs the next. I could live with that if we won another Superbowl.

Even that one year had more to do with injuries than it did the cap.

I am actually cheering for the Lions, as I think most of the football world is. IF we would've won and faced the Lions again I was totally okay losing if it meant they get to a Super Bowl.

The thing is, LBer is such a young man's position. It ages guys really quickly. You can find good LBers in the middle of the draft. I wouldn't mind bringing in a veteran, at the right price, but we def need to draft a guy.

I don't know the whole story with Devin White and the Bucs outside of the fact that he got replaced by Britt this year, who was better than him by all accounts, and he was never going to play OVER future HOF'er Lavonte David.

My two observations from watching and listening to that game yesterday were that 1) Devin White became more of a pass rushing specialist this year, and 2) he looks really out of shape.

With regards to all the cap space we might be able to create... keep in mind that we have multiple expiring contracts going into the off-season. Tyron Smith & Biadasz are two that come to mind right away.

I just hope the Cowboys don't create a bunch of cap and use most of it to re-sign the same guys. We need some new faces on this team.

Tyron in particular I think it's time to tell "thanks for everything, but it's time"

With regards to our cap space, man, I don't know... perhaps this is how all teams do it... but it's about to be a big S* show in Dallas real soon.

Look at the contracts for Tyron Smith, Dak, D-Law... all of these guys have dead money against the cap 1-2 years after their contracts expire. And I think the only way we can free up more cap for next year is to do the exact same thing with other guys.


Whatever, if they want to try and make a run then go for it. But y'all better hold on and get ready for "open tryouts" for the '25 or '26 season, because we are gonna be playing with Ramen Noodle equivalent free agents once the rent comes due!

Agree. Right now, and it may change after free agency, but right now their first pick seems like it is going to be OL and specifically OT. Late 1st round OT is going to be a guy that probably needs some refinement so having Tyron as a backup plan is not a bad idea.

It's why Jerry needs to grow a pair and tell some of these guys to kick rocks. Don't continue pushing back money that is due. Have some spine, tell them thank you for your service and move on; and don't be afraid to make moves or trades.

I think it will be interesting to see if someone makes a run at Tyron in FA. He was really good when he was there and there may be a team that is desperate for a veteran OT.

I'm curious to know what Tyron wants. He's a bit of a different breed... didn't force the Cowboys to break the bank back in the day when he was the best OT in the game. He wanted a long term deal with reasonable money and that was good enough for him.

Who knows what he might be willing to do if he can just stay in Dallas and play ball for a little while longer.

Yeah, I saw a bit of it. I think it's pretty pathetic that family members can't have a little common sense and keep their opinions off social media.

I find it especially pathetic that Parsons crew would mouth off since he was basically absent from that game and two years in a row his production has diminished as the games get more important. They have no room to complain.

And CD looked checked out from the get go.

Just a classic example of because the QB makes the most money, they get the most blame when things go wrong.

I'd like to sign Tyron to a sign and trade type of deal. I think we could get a 3rd rounder for him as he is still one of the best LTs when he is healthy

Every year it seems like they call in their favorite guys like Jason witten or romo to "restructure" their contracts. In other words, paying those guys even more money and kicking the can down the road. Big deal. So smart.

I like the idea of re-signing Biadasz because he wouldn't break the bank. But on the other hand, as I've already stated in previous posts, we cannot simply re-sign a bunch of our guys and roll the same team back on the field next year.

I think we need to go a different direction and see if we can improve our Center spot. I'd much rather re-sign Tyron (assuming he'll come back on a 1 year team friendly deal)... you do not want to jack around with your LT. We 100% should still use a high draft pick for an OT because Tyron will NOT play 17+ games for you... but I'd really like him back next year.
