I could be talked into a trade like that if they are going to continue to be so insistent on putting Parsons at DE exclusively. He's not built like an every down DE, and honestly that's one of the reasons that I think he doesn't get holding calls. He's a little light in the seat and not lengthy, thus when he gets latched onto he REALLY gets latched onto, to the point where he's not getting off; whereas when someone like Myles Garrett get's latched onto, he has the length, speed and strength to break through a hold and make it look obvious he's getting held.

I would keep Micah if they played him at standup LBer and allowed him to run, but I don't think that will happen now.

Glad you guys elaborated on my question... it's exactly what I was thinking. I don't necessarily want the #1 pick in this years draft... I want a bunch of premium picks to let Will McClay and Co. go to work. The Chicago/Wash/Dal three way trade is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind.

Of course, I really really love Micah Parsons, but he's about to wreck somebodies salary cap. The ONLY way l can see Dallas making it work is to keep extending & reworking current deals and try and extend this current window another 2-4 years. But this salary cap delay tactic is eventually going to hit... and when it does, get ready for a miserable season playing with a team that is 3/4 practice squad caliber players!

It's also the reason why we really really really need to have a successful playoff run right now. Getting to the NFC Championship game is the bare minimum acceptable outcome.

We haven't had a defense with this much talent since the 90s and it's the only reason we have any hope of making a run. He's probably 30-35m a year, but you have to do it. Hopefully our cap team has been studying the Eagles and how they use these clever bonus levers to continue to pay a lot of guys without putting themselves in a bind.

FWIW, the likelihood that DQ is here next year is pretty slim. The new DC may put Micah back as a true LB

And I would like to add: I am not against Micah rushing the passer. He's ELITE at that, but I would just like the Cowboys to put him in the best position for him to succeed and the best position to help this defense on a down to down basis.

The last two games this season we saw Micah playing MLB on early run downs quite a bit. I bet we see that a lot against heavy run teams especially (hello Green Bay).

Apparently Jaire Alexander rolled his ankle in a walk-through practice. His status is up in the air for Sunday.

The Packers play a lot of zone and the rest of their secondary is ass, so Alexander being elite really hasn't manifested itself in their pass defense. They're gonna get torched whether he plays or not.

The key in this game will be a couple stops or turnovers early to allow the offense to get up by a couple scores. They won't be able to stop us but they are capable of scoring enough to keep it close if the defense doesn't come to play. The very young Packers will quickly revert to "just happy to be there" mode if the game starts snowballing and we could make it easy on ourselves.

Agree but losing one of the better Dbs in the league, works in our favor no matter how you shape it. Dak and CeeDee should have a huge game.

Was listening to the fan earlier and Broaddus studied a few games from the Packers offense. His take away is Love has struggled against man to man defenses. Their OL has also held up pretty well against opposing pass rushes, allowing just 30 sacks all season. For reference, Dallas gave up 40 sacks. If we can slow Aaron Jones down, this should be a comfortable win.

I am by no means a defense expert, but if Micah is getting held on every single play at DE wouldn't he have more of an impact at LB? They can't run away from him if he's at LB and they can't hold him every play either.

I know he coaches for our hated rivals, but I actually like Sirianni and I think he's a really good coach. I think it would be a mistake for Philadelphia to fire him, so it'd be good for us probably.

That would be crazy. About the eagles, I've been hoping and praying for the last few years that Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelce would retire, but they always manage to bring them back.

He doesn't do anything anymore, though. When he gave up play calling and hired badass coaches, they took off and were unreal. Then those guys left and now they are back to middling.

We beat Tampa in the playoffs last year 31-14 at their place with a less talented team than we have this year.

So apparently AJ Brown has deleted all Eagles crap from his social media and hasn't been at practice the last couple days. Hurts can't even throw a football right now. Eagles are a dumpster fire. Have no idea how they're favored but I've loaded up on the Bucs money line.
