He's been out for like 8 weeks and I assumed he was not coming back this year. Now I see he has a chance to play Saturday

Not sure Kelce got old. Just the reason to stay in bed is suddenly equally or more compelling than the reason to get out of bed.
I think it was his 5th booster that slowed him down actually.

So you're saying the Lions knew Stafford wasn't a QB they could build around to win a SB?
I'm saying the Lions knew they weren't ever going to be able to build around Stafford with Stafford on their team. So yes in a way.

From the Ravens' website, Harbaugh called the Texans' uprising early.

The Texans' 45-14 rout of the Browns in the wild-card playoffs may have surprised some, but probably not Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh.
Four months ago, the day after the Ravens beat the Texans, 25-9, to open the regular season, Harbaugh predicted that the Texans were going places this year.
"Really proud of the guys and really proud of the win against a good Houston team," Harbaugh said in September. "I've said this before about certain teams early in the season 'They're going to win a lot of football games this year.' Mark it down. You'll see. That's a good, young football team."

Harbaugh is a smart coach. He knew what was coming.

I remember watching that game thinking we had a chance to win and were hanging in there, despite the lopsided score. It was really only the beginning of the 3rd quarter that the game got away from us with letting Zay Flowers torch us and being aggressive on 4th down and not getting it.

Now that we have a somewhat decent running game and a defense with more experience, it'll be an exciting game.

One thing that is interesting, but may be nothing, Ravens have been practicing indoors and the Texans outdoors so far this week.

It makes sense. Given the weather in Houston this week, it'll make acclimating to potential cold in Baltimore a little easier.

Are the Texans practicing much outdoors? I know I saw video of the Ravens at their indoor facility, and I assumed it was probably the same for Houston. Guess it makes sense to at least get some reps outdoors in the cold though.

At least we know CJ probably played in some cold weather at Ohio State so it's not as foreign to him as someone like Tua, who looked like the cold affected him more than just about any QB I've seen.

I still can't believe that we are playing in the Divisional round of the playoffs this weekend. This season has been so much fun.

From ESPN's preview

Why the Texans will win: Well, how about Stroud? Sure, there are other reasons -- from receiver Nico Collins to rookie edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. -- to like Houston, but what Stroud has done in recent weeks gives the Texans hope against anyone. And that includes Baltimore. Since Week 16, Stroud ranks third in QBR, behind only Jackson and Love. Stroud is a rookie growing into the professional quarterback he'll become before our eyes, and the progression is happening fast. He's already at the point that Houston has become dangerous.

Oh, and the only defense that was better than Baltimore this season? Cleveland. And Stroud handled that test just fine in the wild-card round. -- Walder

That is classic "all hands on deck" journalism when they start having news anchors and general reporters cover sporting events as teams get deeper into the playoffs or get to a championship level and they want to milk the news coverage for everything it's worth

. All you want those extra people to do is human interest stories ad collect quotes, but nope, they have to show they are big shot journalists and ask the hard-hitting questions that dont make any ****ing sense.

I had to recruit an idiot of a news reporter to cover a high school game that I couldn't get to probably 25 years ago. He wrote a 4 paragraph story that focused on the kicker having to be taken off the field with an injury but that he was going to be OK, and that his 2nd quarter field goal was the difference in a 17-14 win.

A couple of days later I found out from the coach that

1) It wasn't the kicker who got hurt, but the punter.
2) The winning team had scored a touchdown on a 50-yard pass with 1 minute to play
3) The other team had thrown a deep pass to the 3-yard line with 6 seconds left, only to have the game-tying field goal blocked on the last play of the game.

Facts 2 and 3 were not in the story that I received that night.

Take a look at this stat line from LJ8 from week 1 and tell me you are not optimistic about the rematch this Saturday. I've been confident all week knowing what we have going into this game and I think we can make a run at it all with this team. The pressure is all going to be on Lamar and the Ravens.

17-22 169 YDS
1 INT

6 CAR, 38 YDS

I think we hve a shot to win if we can not turn the ball over. But expecting 2 **** performances from Jackson in the same season seems unlikely. He's coming off back to back performances murdering the 49ers and Dolphins.

I get what you're saying but using that Week 1 isn't a real indicator.

It was Week 1 and Lamar's first game in a new offensive scheme with a new OC. It took them a few weeks to hit their stride in the new system.

After Grumpy Old Men Volumes I and II and II and a coach in BoB who I legitimately felt smarter than many times, DeMeco is nothing short of a God Send.

I know it is cheesy, but I appreciated the ref interaction at the end. Seems like a humble guy with big fire. Texans found a real winner.

So multiple things stand out to me on that Harris INT interaction

1. The HC coaching up and communicating directly with a player.
2. The trust Harris had to do what he coached. This shows what these guys think of Demeco and the buy-in they have.
3. The execution. He did exactly what he was coached and the result was exactly what was supposed to happen. One miscue and he's a split second late or just a yard out of position.

Just all around an incredible play and exceptional example of communication, trust, and execution.

We've got ourselves a good one fellas!

yep they were talking about it on Pat Macafee show and AJ hawk mentioned when a couch tells you something like that and it works, you trust and support that coach forever. This one was on tape but you know this is just how Meco is with his players!
